Elementary educator specializing in all facets of math and reading instruction from curriculum design and identification of best practices to data analysis to determine benchmarks, establish goals, and monitor improvement in identified areas. Based on classroom curriculum, supplemental materials, and student needs, I worked with elementary classroom teachers in providing support and feedback in the areas of lesson planning, assessments, classroom routines, classroom management.

Developed benchmarks and data designed to spot and track learning trends and student hurdles.

Modeled lessons for teachers, co-taught lessons within the classroom, and met weekly in team level meetings to discuss best practices, identify common misconceptions through analyzing student work, and, most recently, helped teachers become comfortable and familiar with the new common core standard and practices.

Administered the Early Childhood Assessment of Mathematics (ECAM),which is a set of questions and skills, from kindergarten through fourth grade. The goal is to assess students' math skills at the beginning, middle and end of each school year. The assessments are conducted as a one-on-one.

Planned, scheduled, and organized a Saturday family math day, twice a year, in which students and their families came to celebrate math and reading through games and activities.

Most recently, I have been asked to support teachers, during the transition to the Common Core. I have become very knowledgeable about the K – 5 standards in both math and ELA and have helped teachers better understand both the content and pedagogical shifts. I assisted teachers with short term and long range planning.
