Product Engineer (Promoted Jan. 2013) from Engineer Technician / Administrative Assistant
Product -Working with the customer’s engineering department to set and maintain quality standards for products of various complexities, sizes, and production volumes while aligning technical requirements and customer’s needs. Developed of work instructions for multiple processes to meet customer quality requirements
Project Management – Responsible for instituting and maintaining new project management system, used in conjunction with Microsoft Project, to track new product designs from conception to production. Act as liaison between our and customer engineering departments, production planning departments, and end customer engine manufacturer.
Training -Responsible for training new Product Engineers, Technicians, and College and High School Interns. Project oversight of interns, serving as their point of contact during their tenure.
Financial – Responsible for tracking, reporting, and analyzing engineering department financial metrics and investigate to determine variances and exceptions. Participate in yearly internal and third party audits of assets and financial records.
Scheduling – Create and distribute maintenance schedule of events including component calibrations, periodic preventative maintenance, and contractor work to effected business centers. Prioritize and assign work requests as submitted.
Sales – Assigned technical sales representative for 3 of 5 divisions for business to business sales of second quality merchandise. Completed transactions included approving disposal of rejected product, financial impact analysis, and appropriate paperwork for tracking and shipping/receiving purposes. Create monthly, quarterly, and yearly cost sheets for Engineer Dept. use by product line.
Administration – Responsible for maintaining package for monthly business reports. Development of power point presentations for customer and management use from raw data to final presentation format. Creating capital project proposals and tracking of Engineering Dept. projects. Scrap to sales percentage forecasting by product and department culmination with action plan for reduction. Manage financial data for Engineering Dept including waste cost, repair, travel, and supply budgets.
Inventory Control – Create and maintain database of critical components for facility as determined by manufacturer and historical equipment downtime of similar origin/ use. Institute and maintain critical level alerts for supply replenishment.
Quality - Responsible for ensuring our process is capable to meet quality requirements and suppliers processes are in control and capable. Final disposition of quality related decisions, review of all customer returns, and responsible for writing and implementing corrective actions from our customers as well as issuing and reviewing corrective action requirements to our suppliers.
