I am most accurately described as a problem solving, hands on Chartered Accountant with exceptional leadership capabilities paired with a passion for business, strategy and people. The Success I have achieved to date can be traced back to my team and hard work and planning. I enjoy identifying talent and enriching the people around me to enable them to pursue their career goals. I take pride in my duties and ensure that tasks are completed accurately and on time. Negotiating, strategic planning and deal structuring are my most favourite strengths and has served me remarkably well. Managerial success requires communication, exceptional leadership, empirical creativity, productive paranoia and fanatic discipline, which are the disciplines I strive towards.

After successfully completing my CA (SA) in 2010, my career path steered me away from practice and toward commerce. I successfully pursued a position in commerce with a leading JSE listed engineering and manufacturing concern. I was tasked to head up finance for the largest division of the group, working closely with the CEO, FD and MD. At the Argent Group I gained invaluable experience in stock costing and working capital management. My team did a remarkable job of meeting all deadlines and maintaining the groups desired working capital balances.

During 2011 I relocated to Cape Town South Africa, joining a specialised Telesales Group to head up Finance. After a year and a half I had the privilege of being promoted to General Manager of the Summer Mobile, at this stage we were a loss leader for the group and needed change. With a lot of hard work, planning and a well thought out business model we turned Summer Mobile around and made it the telesales giant it is today.

After my recent success with Summer Mobile late 2013 a FTSE 250 Listed Group namely Hunting Energy Services approached me to take on the position of Financial Controller, Africa. Reluctant to make the move, Hunting persuaded me to join the group and to be part of their African Adventure. We consisted of a newly appointed Managing Director, Financial Controller and a Personal Assistant 1 September 2013. Our task was to set up The Hunting Business in Africa.

The executive team identified on strategic locations for engineering machine shops to service the oil and gas industry in Sub Sahara Africa. We successfully project managed the build of the now one year old Cape Town facility and recently cut the ribbon at our facility in Mombasa Kenya. My team set up the full financial function, including ERP system, policies and procedures and best practices. Our most favourite challenges included FX Management, Foreign Funding, Forecasting, Tax, Treasury, Transfer Pricing and Exchange Control. My current responsibilities stretch over and beyond finance and spill over into negotiations, strategy, planning, operations and project management. Recent completed projects include BBBEE strategy, FX funding, DTI incentives, Cape Town facility and Mombasa Facility. Hunting is a very nimble organisation and we work closely with the board of directors and CEO. I enjoy working with the group and the responsibility they have given me.
