Served in Project Leader role, leading product development projects and international teams. Managed over 2000 + products for the metal cutting industry with responsibility for maintaining, testing, improving, and evaluating designs for machining capability. Assisted Project Management with technical documents, catalog development, and sales material. Maintain document control, build BOM’s, issue EAN/Deviation’s/Product recall and change notice. Populate EPP database and validate system data. Utilized SAP for all product documentation control and Microsoft Excel for project management communication.

Achieved millions in sales through 10 patents issued by solving problems in tool utilization for 3, 4, and 5 axis machining centers and translating concepts into reality while working closely with customers in Aerospace & Defense, Energy, Oil & Gas, Earthworks, Mining and Construction, Transportation, Durable Goods and Specialty Applications industries.

Implemented manufacturing program of reduced costs and quicker lead times through development of semi-machined blank stock process and hard machined special customer options for quick turnaround of off-the-shelf products.

Worked in Mechanical Design role to assist Engineers in product development. Collaborated with Product Marketing and global design teams to create detailed product drawings to be used by customers, sales, catalog, marketing, purchasing, vendors, as well as manufacturing to produce product. Utilized NX 9.0 (Unigraphics) to create 2D or 3D layouts and models for artwork, system integration, and machining programs. Created components and assemblies for stack-up analysis and validity of design. Mentored junior designers, assigned tasks, and reviewed quality and accuracy of work for drawing release.

Involved with development of automatic customer file build system through DXF file integration of customer requests. Directed India design team for coordinated efforts of 2D & 3D model creation.

Received patent award for development of tool-holder collet system used to hold drilling and milling products and which subsequently became part of core sales for product group.

Developed fine-balancing system which earned over $70K in initial launch sales. Received patent award as co-inventor for product enhancement used in high speed operations.

Enhanced core sales of tool-holding product group with collaboration in development of tool-to-machine spindle, HSK interface connection. Subsequently grew product portfolio to 1K+ line items complete with model and drawing creation.

Designed assemblies and components to military specifications for armored combat vehicles. Specially, work included development of the electronic steering control mechanism, direct hit interior fire control system, and exterior mine sweeping blade.
