COVER LETTER

To Whom It May Concern:

My resume will reveal a long trend of leadership, initiative and transferable skills. I have an extensive background in the business of health care, with accomplished motivational, personnel and people skills as a provider and as an administrator. My family owned a small resort hotel on Cape Cod so I grew up with hotel management, customer service and hospitality skills. As a podiatrist my customer service and people skills were further developed seeing 200-300 walk-in and referral patients per month. Having been entrepreneurial for almost 28 years and building a medical practice my marketing skills are excellent.

My experience as a podiatric physician allowed me to successfully deal with the very concerned families of the high acuity residents at A GRACE Sub Acute & SNF.I keep up with daily routines 24 hour nursing endorsements, audits, IDT meetings, triple check and regularly check the charted ADL's for proper levels of assistance. I review time/attendance details, overtime, nursing PPD etc. on a daily basis

I have an excellent understanding of the PPS System and have extensive prior knowledge of insurance coding procedures especially Part A and Part B Medicare RUG scores having used these guidelines for years in my own clinics. My medical background also enables me to understand appropriate maximizing of patient PT/OT rehabilitation treatments for the best care result and for correct revenue billing. I have had excellent annual CMS 2567California State Surveys at Grove SNF, Oak Meadows Nursing & Rehabilitation, A Grace Sub Acute and Plymouth Square, as well as the 2 year State Licensing Survey.

When I began my position as administrator at A Grace the facility was a financially troubled facility. Since my tenure at A Grace, a nearby Hospital that has almost never sent patient referrals has begun to regularly refer to the facility. Census has been increased by 11% and the facility has gone from a one star to a two star rating. My present position is Executive Officer / Administrator of Plymouth Square, a large multi-level care community and SNF. The facility also went from 4 star to 5 star and increased occupancy form 85% to 95% and from 12% Medicare to 17% Medicare.

I have recently completed an Interim position as Administrator at Villa Marin in San Rafael, CA. This was a very upscale CCRC Independent and Assisted Living Condominium complex with a 5 Star Skilled Nursing facility

Having the correct knowledge to do something is meaningless unless you know how to deal with different personalities, have good people skills, know how to inspire, to get and keep respect, authority and control, and have the intuitive experience to know when to be flexible and when to be rigorously absolute.

At A Grace Sub-Acute and Plymouth Square I have successfully improved quality control standards and have increased facility census with marketing and negotiated contracts with Kaiser, and other HMO’s specifically for short term rehabilitation and Medicare. Since my prior medical practice was mostly referral based, business development acumen gained from many years of physicians relations experience, has also opened additional referral doors from physicians, case managers and hospice for A Grace and Plymouth Square.

The perceptions about people gained from many years of medical practice, and supervisory skills from my prior leadership positions, has given me the ability to be able to competently oversee proper patient care and to be able to create a referent authoritative organizational culture with employees. I have become a Nursing Home Administrator because I want to be able to be in a position to improve the lives of the elderly and disabled to maximum function and highest quality of life. To also be able to socialize with residents and be supportive with their families, with experienced appropriate people skills, to make a useful difference. I have spent most of my professional life working with geriatric and disabled patients and their families.

Sincerely,

Dr. Denny Noss
