OBJECTIVE

EXPERIENCE

November, 2010 through July, 2016: Ginnis & Krathen, P.A., 515 East Las Olas Boulevard, Suite 440, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33301. I was the Litigation Paralegal to Eric Jason Ginnis, Esquire. My employment began with the law firm of Ginnis & Groysman, P.A. Five months after my initial employment, Ginnis & Krathen, P.A. was formed from the ground up by the principals Eric Jason Ginnis, Stefanie Krathen-Ginnis and two office staff, one of which, was myself. My duties included: updating and maintaining forms in Aderant (formerly ClientProfiles), drafting all lawsuits and discovery packages, maintained the firm's litigation calendar, scheduled depositions and hearings, requested medical records, prepared notebooks for hearings, depositions, mediation, coordinated, scheduled, prepared for and attended trial. Prepared demand packages, met with clients, prepared discovery responses with clients, prepared expert witness packages, prepared closing packages after settlement, including obtaining reductions in bills and handling the final distribution meeting with clients. Various duties and tasks as assigned.

March, 2009 through September 2010: Thomas & Pearl, P.A., 2404 N.E. 9th Street, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33304. My position was Litigation Paralegal to Charles A. Mancuso, Esquire. My duties included: Opening all mail, preparing responsive letters, pleadings, scheduling mediations and preparing notebooks with all medical records and bills for same. I maintained all of the litigation calendar and scheduling, which included client contact during the entire litigation process. To assist in the flow of the litigation department I began a trial notebook, status page in each client directory, and daily “to do” list.

February, 2008 through March, 2009: Winer & Associates, 5353 North Federal Highway, Suite 405, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33308. My position was Paralegal for the firm. My duties included: Answering calls, responding to mail, drafting pleadings, scheduling hearings and depositions, ordering office supplies, filing, organizing, assisting in the preparation of complex briefs for filing in Federal Court and various duties as assigned.

April 2007 through January, 2008: Sonn & Erez, PLC, 500 East Broward Boulevard, #1700, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33394. As Paralegal to Mr. Erez, I prepared daily correspondence and pleadings, processed mail, prepared both simple and complex cases for arbitration before FINRA. Conducted legal research for Mr. Erez as directed as well as a myriad of other tasks as assigned.

March, 2006 through January, 2007: Wicker Smith, 515 East Las Olas Boulevard, 14th Floor, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33301. I was assigned to work for two associate attorneys in the O'Hara Division where my duties included: reviewing all incoming mail, prepared pleadings and correspondence responsive to mail each day. Scheduled hearings, prepared Subpoenas, scheduled mediations, prepared folders for hearings and depositions.

December, 1997 through September 2005: Sheldon J. Schlesinger, P.A., 1212 S.E. 3rd Avenue, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33316. Lead Paralegal to Gregg A. Schlesinger, Esquire. My duties included: case management from the initial client interview through trial and everything in between. Initial representation letters, gathering incident reports, medical records, expert reports, preparing expert review packages, I trained new paralegals hired in our division and managed all of Mr. Schesinger's personal appointments and travel arrangements. I prepared notebooks for court hearings, depositions, and mediations. I prepared cases for trial in every aspect and attended each day of trial while ensuring the attendance of all subpoenaed trial witnesses.

EDUCATION AND TRAINING

I have worked as a paralegal in Florida for 26 years, for 1 year in Texas, and 4 years in Tennessee. I am proficient in every aspect of the legal office. I type 80 - 90 words per minute without errors. I am punctual, organized, professional and I work well independently as well as on a team. I have experience with many case management software programs and I have kept up to date with both State Court and Federal Court e-filing procedures.
