This letter is to express my interest in the Industrial Specialist (Aircraft) Company. In reply to job posting via internet and based on my skills as a Quality Assurance Engineer and Manufacturing Quality Assurance Specialist, Procedure Compliance Specialist, I am confident that I would be a great addition to your team.

I’m enclosing my resume which highlights my ability/knowledge/expertise in Quality Assurance, Inspection and Manufacturing of Aircraft.

Please note my employment as a GS-1910 Procurement Quality Assurance Specialist, for NAVPRO and AFPRO at McDonnell Douglas now Boeing.

During a routine review of the Wire Crib Department, to identify any trends, and for potential problem areas, after handling wire bundles and touching my face, I felt a chemical burning sensation. Further review and after months of investigative research, and of interviewing of McDonnell Douglas employees, and observation of rust on hand tools and machinery, I found that the cloth material used to cover the wire bundle was not intended for use in aircraft.

McDonnell Douglas Engineering Department failed to qualify the material as per Mil - Q-9858A Specifications. The cloth material had an acidic base, which caused the chemical burning sensation, corroding of tools and equipment, and corroded aircraft part that were still in house.

The delivered aircraft and those still in manufacturing process, were stripped of the defective wire bundles, the contaminated aircraft surface were removed cleaned and acid neutralized. The reworked wire bundles were reinspected and reinstalled. Due to my investigative skills and early detection the possible loss of pilot’s life and/or serious damage to aircraft was prevented.

Sincerely,

Irineo (Ed) Flores
