Quantity Surveyor

Murphy Pipe and Civil Group Pty Ltd (MPC) have been awarded the Installation of Trunkline Works as part of the Phase II – Surat North Upstream Project. This Project consists of the establishment of access roads, Charlie and Philip Ponds, construction of Charlie FCS, tie-in works at Woleebee Creek, Trunkline installation between Charlie FCS and Woleebee Creek CPP including Charlie and Phillip ponds and installation of Power infrastructure including overhead 132kV transmission lines and substation at Charlie.

Origin Energy – Australia Pacific LNG ($24B) 2010 – 2015

Senior Contracts Engineer

The Australia Pacific LNG is a CSG to LNG joint venture partnership between Origin, ConocoPhillips and Sinopec. The Australia Pacific LNG Project is a coal seam gas (CSG) to liquefied natural gas (LNG) multiple staged project to deliver LNG.

Reporting directly to Senior Manager of Contracts, I managed a team that included four direct reports known as “Shared Services." Shared Services was responsible for leadership and setting strategic direction for sub-projects; Health & Safety, Traffic and Transport, Engineering Authority.

Key responsibilities included forming the management strategy, later approved by the Contracts Review Board, whilst managing Quality and Assurance, and identifying business opportunities. Activities followed varied pending what’s approved, not limited to: Initial expression of interest; Formation of tender; Releasing of the tender to the market; Shortlisting & completion of a normalization process; Negotiations and completion of recommendation for an award; Drafting and execution of the contract of agreement.

Post contact activities included the contracts' management, administrational activities through to close-out, whilst identifying business opportunities within implemented procedures.

Achievements:

Successfully implemented tenders to an award of contract for sub projects, and as required contract's management of the following agreements:

Gathering and Facilities ($600M);

Process Automation Systems / MAC ($120M);

McConnell Dowell Constructors (Aus) Pty Ltd 2010 – 2008

Senior Contracts Administrator

Secondment from NSW to EPC-5B Brisbane / Papa New Guinea. – Joint Venture between McConnell Dowell (MacDow) and Consolidated Contracting Company Australia Pty Ltd (CCC) for the construction of airport, strategically located 10 km south east of the Hyde Gas Conditioning Plant (HGCP) and the future Juha developments, will service the landmark PNG LNG project which will develop gas and liquid hydrocarbon resources located in the Southern Highlands of Papua New Guinea.

The project incorporates construction of a new airfield, including a 3.2 km long runway, airport building and hangers to accommodate both Antonov AN-124 cargo planes and Dash-8 passenger aircraft.

The works also incorporate the upgrade or construction of roads and bridges along two main logistics routes, including roughly 21 km of upgraded track between HGCP and the airfield (through Terejaga); two modern bridges plus upgrade 20 km of the existing road between the Laijauko intersection (on the Idauwi – HGCP Road) and the construction of Komo Airfield (through Tagari) to support airfield construction.

Achievements:

Reviewed; sub contracts, major plant and supplier’s agreements prepare and engage subcontractors and suppliers;

Ensured commercial issues are consistent with MCJV’s IMS procedures and modify subcontract procedures in order to align with joint venture agreement. Novation of various agreements from offshore to onshore;

Performing required weekly & monthly reporting – subcontractor & plant performance measure against budget;

Responsible for the cost-code management process of the sub contracts & major suppliers;

Facilitated negotiations between indigenous groups & Project Land Compensation and Industrial Relations Commission;

Provided effective leadership for administration drawing upon local resources.

Replacement Flows Project is part of the Western Sydney Recycled Water Initiative that consists of a joint venture between McConnell Dowell, United Group Infrastructure and General Electric (Deerubbin Water Futures) with Sydney Water as the principal client. The concept of the Replacement Flows Project is to take tertiary treated effluent from the existing sewage-treatment plant at Quakers Hill, St Marys and Penrith and treat it further in an Advanced Water Treatment Plant. The Advanced Water Treatment Plant produces highly treated recycled water to be discharged to the Hawkesbury-Nepean River to replace flows of drinking water from Warragamba Dam. The St Mary's plant produces up to18 billion litres of recycled water a year. To complete the infrastructure upgrade, a total of 55km of pipeline was installed and divided into five different operating lines.

Drafted contracts, and execute, perform contracts management, including evaluation of suppliers and contractors;
