2013-2016 - Caregiver - Part-time care for 3 years- Same client. Sometimes pulled all night care when her family was away. Client had Parkinson's Disease and Dementia. I cooked 3 meals a day, washed dishes and laundry, took care of pet, put out the trash, did yardwork, polished furniture, washed floors, vacummed rugs, and organized and decorated rooms. Helped her get dressed and aided her in the bathroom and shower.Guided her with her walker. Job ended when she went to a nursing home.
2009 - 2011 - Author - I wrote and published two children's books entitled Snaggleloopus and Snaggleloopus Fight Against Bullying.
2009 - Pier 1 Imports - New Bern, NC. - Worked as a Sales Associate. My duties included: selling home furnishings, running the cash register, accessing the inventory tracking system and setting up displays and unloading new inventory.
2007 - Dale City Recreation Center - Preschool Music Teacher - Prince William County, Virginia. I developed a pre-school teaching program for the center that involved teaching children primary skills through music. Also created and taught a Summer Camp for music that spanned elementary children through teens.
2000 - 2005 - Foster Care Contractor - Contracted with Prince William County and Arlington County, Virginia, Social Services helping foster children with family life issues and providing a safe place to live until they were placed with another foster family or reunited with their own family.
1987 - 1998 - Internal Revenue Service - Worked for the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) in Boston, Massachusetts and Andover Service Center in Andover, Massachusetts. I subsequently relocated to Washington, DC holding several positions:
Taxpayer Service Representative - Answered about a hundred calls a day assisting people with tax related questions and their tax account information.
Writer/Editor - Wrote and published Service Center and National Newsletters that contained training materials, Directors messages and information regarding new programs and national holiday/governmental observances. I wrote press releases covering Congressional Tax Law changes, special programs such as “Toys for Tots” sponsored by the Marines and government job fairs to the public.
Program Analyst - Organized a Multimedia Team which produced Service-wide training videos. I developed these training videos for the Service Wide Analyst Training program covering Team Building, Government Writing styles, Contractor training modules and Communication Skills. I was selected to participate on a Re-engineering Team to modernize customer service. My team interviewed top Fortune 500 businesses to identify best practices that could be incorporated into the IRS. I delivered a final report on the Best Practice analysis to IRS Executives. Developed a database housing technical changes that occurred in the tax processing system and reported and tracked how these changes affected different areas within the IRS. I moved to the Electronic Tax Administration Team and was a part of the Marketing Team that prepared materials for external tax filing participants to inform them on new tax processes, tax laws and tax forms that affected electronic tax processing.
