Responsibilities (Brief summary of Experience)

Reliability/integrity

Preparation of corrosion loops. Identification of condition monitoring location-CMLs & preparation of inspection strategy based on relevant damage mechanisms.

Identification of section of static equipment, piping susceptible to aggravated corrosion viz. dead ends, injection & mixing points-IP MP, Corrosion under Insulation-CUI. Preparation of inspection strategy documents for the same.

To carry out root cause failure analysis in a team for a static equipment /piping related problems. Based on the analysis, providing recommendations viz. metallurgy upgrade, process related controls, design changes etc. to avoid recurrence of failure in same or identical other units.

Identification of special piping components viz. critical spring supports, process critical NRVs, critical expansion bellows etc. preparation of inspection strategy documents for the same

Inspection interval review for a static equipment, piping loops & PSVs- based on inspection findings.

Participation in “plant reliability” meetings comprising of multi discipline members to review integrity operation window.

Assisting in implementation of ‘Risk Based Inspection’ Programs for Deciding inspection intervals & philosophy of corrosion loops, static equipments, PSVs.

‘Fitness for Services’ analysis of piping & pressure vessels, as & when required.

Routine Inspection Activities

Responsible for preparation, development, implementation and maintenance of inspection plan and schedule.

Liaises with O&M to schedule inspection activities and ensuring that sufficient time and access is allowed to properly inspect operability and safety of plant.

Responsible for routine internal and external inspection of various types of pressure vessels, heat exchangers, furnaces, reactors, pressure safety valves, tankages, power piping as well as process piping and other power plant equipment as per statutory requirements viz. GFR, IBR, OISD (Oil Industry Safety Directorate).

Prepares/Reviews inspection reports and develops recommendations of any engineering work required, reduction on operating parameters or capacities and future inspection intervals and testing procedures.

Contributes to the preparation of the department budget as applicable to inspection activities with particular reference to non-routine operating and capital budget.

Participation in PSSR (Pre Startup Safety Review) audits prior to startup after plant shutdown as well as prior to commission new modification job.

Inspection activities as per the requirement in MOC. Vendor coordination for MOC of the specific job.

Preparation of the inspection reports including recommendations for the same in SAP.

Shutdown Inspection Activities

Providing inspection requirements during shutdowns for process units based on previous history and observations in coordination with operation and maintenance team.

Estimation, planning for men power, NDT resources.

Publishing daily MIS including forward path / recommendations.

Preparation of inspection summary / inspection reports for shutdown jobs.

Quality Assurance, control and management

Development and implementation of QMS (Quality Management System).

Monitoring and evaluating all the EPC (Engineering, Procurement and Construction) activities for MOC jobs.

Review and approval of quality assurance / quality control submittals from suppliers and sub-contractors.

Conduct internal quality audit functions.

Issue non-compliance notices to work contractors and maintenance of nonconformity reports and corrective action request logs and monitoring of processing of these documents.

Providing and qualifying WPS-PQR, providing ITP-QAP for routing and shutdown fabrication activities.

Witnessing WQT (Welder Qualification Test) for fabrication activities.

Review and evaluation of vendor documents viz. technical offers, ITP-QAP, procedures, MTR (Material Test Report), MDR (Manufacturer Data Record).

Inspection of incoming material.

Witnessing and evaluating different NDT as per applicable codes and requirements.

Establishing time span for projects as per the requirements of clients and ensuring adherence to the same.

Prepare the Work schedule according to the Planning & Available Resources.

Evaluating designs, coordinating with Consultants and Sub Contractors for implementing the same.

Use of Software like MS Excel for Planning and Scheduling of job.

Project Monitoring, Control & Coordination

Monitoring of work progress of construction site according to defined Work Schedule.

Track the bottlenecking in the project and implement the corrective measures.

Preparation of MIS like DPR, WPR, MPR, Logistic Report etc.
