• Training at a Coal Ship named APJ SURYAVIR at Ennore port.
. APJ Suryavir is a bulk carrier vessel especially used for carrying coal in the Indian coastal waters. The on-ship training gave an overview about the nautical publications which includes Chart catalogue, Tide table, Nautical almanac, notices to mariners, admiralty list of lights, admiralty list of radio signals, sailing directions. The training exposed me to the bridge equipments like Telegraph, Radar, Automatic Radar Plotting Aid (ARPA), Magnetic Compass, Echo Sounder, Rudder Angle Indicator, Voyage Data Recorder, Navigational lights and Ship whistle. The training also gave an idea about the voyage planning and weather reporting.
