EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND

Michigan Technological University GPA: 3.80 Houghton MI

MS in Electrical Engineering. Spring 2016

Coursework:-Power System Protection, Computer modelling of power system, Advanced methods in Power system, Solar-Photovoltaic technology, Power Electronics, Electronics Materials, Power System Operations, Special topic in photovoltaic, Directed study in Photovoltaic.

Vishwakarma Institute of Information Technology Class: First class Pune University Bachelor of Electronics Engineering. 2012

Concentration-Analog Circuit Design, Wireless Communication, OPAMPS, Microcontrollers and Microprocessors, Power Electronics, Advanced Power Electronics.

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

Miller Electric Mfg. Co. Appleton, Wisconsin,

Power Electronic Intern May 2015-Aug 2015

Projects: 1) Inductor Designing: Designed input and output edge wound inductor using Finite Element Magnetics Method software. This helped to know the approximate inductance value without actually building the inductor hardware.

2) IGBT Testing and Designing: Designed an IGBT tester using ORCAD Software which can test different IGBT packages. Even replaced the silicon diode with silicon carbide diode (SiC) in IGBT tester and observed the switching losses of IGBT at different operating conditions.

Vishwakarma Institute of Information Technology, Pune, India

Research Assistant Oct 2013-May 2014

Projects: 1) Ultrasonic cleaner: Designed MOSFET based ultrasonic cleaner. Used ALTIUM and ORcad for (Surface Mount Device) type PCB designing to minimise the chip dimensions.

2) 3 Phase Bi-Directional Grid Tie Converter: Simulated 3 Phase Bi-directional Grid tie (Inverter+Converter) using MATLAB-Simulink to transfer excess power into the grid/battery.

Integrated Automation and Robotics, India Aug 2012-May 2013

Electronic Trainee Engineer

Project: 1) Switch Mode Power Supply (SMPS): Designed and Hardware Implementation of 80 Watt SMPS to convert AC input to multiple DC outputs, using Fly back Converter topology, the output voltages were 5V-12V. Also simulated using MATLAB-Simulink. It can be used in automobile industry as car audio and battery charging.

2) PLC Programming: Implemented PLC code (Ladder Diagrams) for Bar Feeder and Pick and Place using Codesys tool.

ACADEMIC PROJECTS & PRESENTATION: Michigan Technological University

1)Positioning of Non-tracking Planar Concentrators (Reflectors) in order to improve the performance of PV systems Jan 2016-Apr 2016

Reflectors are set at optimal angle to obtain maximum efficiency using TracePro Expert Software and designing of reflector and PV module was done with AutoCAD.

2)Photovoltaic Residential Rooftop Designing using AutoCAD Jan 2016-Apr 2016

Depending upon the land and rooftop space availability PV panels are designed using AutoCAD software.

3) Performance of Retail Store-Centred Microgrids with Solar PV Parking Lot, CHP and-Battery (Li-ion) Hybrid Systems Sept 2015-Dec 2015

Utilize Retail Store parking area in order to design a hybrid off-grid system (PV-CHP-Battery) using HOMER Pro Software in order to fulfil the electrical demand of at least 350 houses around Retail Store and meet the thermal demand of Store. This will benefit both Retail Store and residential houses around it.

4)Photovoltaic + Combined Heat and Power+Battery (Li-ion) hybrid System: Jan 2015- Apr 2015

Designed and simulated complete off-grid system to fulfill electrical and thermal Residential load demand using HOMER Pro software. This minimized fossil fuel consumption and Green House Gas emission (GHG) and calculated LCOE for the same.

5) Forward/Backward sweep Algorithm for Distribution System with and without Distributed Generator (DG): Jan 2015- Apr 2015

Implemented MATLAB code using Forward/Backward sweep Algorithm for 12 bus and IEEE 30 bus Distribution System with and without DG.

6)Brushless DC Motor Drive (BLDC): Used in Automotive Applications Aug 2011-Jan 2012

Hall-Effect sensor based variable speed drive for driving 24V, 60Watts BLDC using dsPIC30F microcontroller. Used ALTIUM for designing PCB for inverter and Power supply. Also implemented code for PWM generation using Micro-c and Proteus.
