Comply with OSHA standard rules and regulations for our industry. Read x-rays to find bad welds. Hydro testing of low and high pressure piping. Verifying locked out lines, work permits, hot work permits, confined space permits etc.
Instrumentation-pneumatic and electrical,
Use flow sheets to install instrumentation, POVs, MOVs, LT's, Orifices, etc. Learn to calibrate PRs, LTs, etc.
Heavy Rigging,
Learn lifting capacities and how to lift heavy loads safely. Use of Spreaders, chain falls, chokers, shackles, on Cherry Pickers, on up to large Manitowoc cranes which must be assembled on site in order to make these heavy lifts safely.
Blueprint Reading, Drawing and Figuring Take Offs
Learn to Read and Draw, Plan Views, Elevation Views, Isometric views, Top, Front, Right/Left Side Views, and Presentation Drawings as required. Part drawings for Fabrication, and do Material Take-offs
Fabrication
Learn to assemble pipe per blue prints and make different pipe fittings. Tees, saddles, reducers, mitered joints, caps, etc.
Welding, TIG, MIG, & Stick
Learn to prepare Pipe, Plate, and Structural components before welding. Learn how to do initial tack welds. The root pass, the hot Pass, the filler, and to cap the weld in various fixed test positions. Welds must pass an x-ray or a destructive test on cap/root bends.
