Senior Business Analyst - Contract position with DataScan Technologies, Alpharetta, GA

Part of the Business Analyst team responsible for DataScan Technologies wholesale financing application, supporting $45 billion in collateral loans. Application functionality includes loan imports/creation and management, general ledger, data exports, and Risk Management.

Lead BA for Finance Company’s (Client) upgrade from the client-based software version to the new web-based solution. Design General Ledger and ACH Interface files, Billing Statements, and custom branding of User Interface.

Designed Change Report for Client to assess borrower credit worthiness, Borrower Risk Rating, Facility Risk Rating, and current account status.

Document application changes and seed data requirements per Client requests; ensure development and Quality Assurance correctly implement changes. Work with Clients to impart understanding of software capabilities and how small changes in business processes enable them to efficiently complete their work without implementing requested custom code.

With two peers, design new Business Requirements Document (BRD) template and write companion SOP. Purpose of the BRD is to provide Clients with more clear documentation of current state versus future state of the application, remove sections that were part of the prior Requirements template to alleviate client confusion of the extraneous information included for internal DataScan use only, and to streamline the approval process for the proposed changes.

Project managed two Company-wide ‘Bug Hunt Quality Initiatives’ for current software releases. The single day testing effort involved 68 associates running 1090 test scenarios, resulting in 102 issues being documented. Role included identifying and documenting test scenarios, program communications, complete logistics management, operating triage center during testing, reporting test results. Post-test survey results indicate 86.7% of associates believe the Quality Initiative was value added in improving the quality of the product and in learning more about the ‘day-in-the-life’ of our Clients. Ninety-three percent (93%) of participants stated the goals were clear and documentation/instructions were easily understood.

In a partnership with application teams, implemented 3 major releases of an order fulfillment application based on a Motorola MC75A Mobile platform using SDLC methodology. The project included designing new integrations files to the financial backend, determining data requirements, and designing two new modules. The project successfully enabled associates to work in the store aisles with customers rather than having to find a register.
