WASTE HEAT, ELECTRICITY GENERATION

In our project we worked on the waste heat generated, in a process plant. Here we have done the work on electricity generation using waste heat. In process industries there are various operations which works with the Exothermic reactions. As in industry the reactions carried out at large scale so the energy released by the reaction is also at large scale. This energy is used to do various works like preheating, superheating, the gases which are to be used at high temperature, this energy is also used to rotate the turbine in an thermal electric power plant. Here on the basis of heat transfer if we provide hot side and cold side and could create proper temperature difference then by using some modules like TEG and,TEC used here, by using the principle of seeback effect we can directly generate electricity. Which as a result will reduce the cost of labours process and waste management and amount of pollution could be controlled.
