HRS per week: 40-45

Performed detailed engineering analysis as the lead hydraulics engineer for OH-58, AH-1, and UH-1 Bell Helicopter components. Provided professional engineering support to insure airworthiness, improve product reliability and improve longevity of hydraulic/mechanical aircraft systems. Provided immediate support for critical components based on technical data acquired through various sources which include the use of ASME, ANSI, ASTM and MIL Spec Standards. Reviewed technical data from component drawings, specifications, and military technical manuals to resolve conflicts that require considerable planning, coordination and analysis. Worked as a team lead with Quality Assurance and provided professional engineering support during Product Verification Audits (PVAs). Collected the necessary data by contacting Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) and parts suppliers to provide adequate alternate or replacement parts. Provided alternate and substitute products through the use of Qualified Product Lists (QPLs). Created new processes, techniques, and procedures for overhaul of aerospace parts that include plating, plastic media blasting, and laser etching. Developed new repair techniques, provided deviations and waivers from technical data, and ensured helicopter systems, components, and parts are safe, reliable, and operational. Reviewed contractor’s work to determine adequacy of deviations and waivers from existing Government technical data. Performed duties for a recapitalization effort to determine if the economic life of OH-58D electro-mechanical actuators could be rehabilitated. Developed prototype repair methods and directed the implementation of the repair. Developed standards and test plans to assure reliability of aircraft components. Evaluated Source Approval Requests (SAR) submitted by the Source of Repair (SOR) and provided approval/disapproval based on requirements. Assisted with production management by researching upcoming production inhibitors and providing necessary deviations or waivers to keep production on schedule. Communicated orally with supervisors and team members to notify them of aircraft production issues. Prepared and exchanged oral and written ideas in a timely accurate manner that was easily understood by the recipient. Prioritized assigned workload and meets assigned suspense within the required timeframe(s). Wrote Maintenance Engineering Orders (MEOs) in which official Government technical data is modified to reflect new repair procedures, processes, diagrams, etc. and insured that Value Engineering studies/estimates are in place to capture cost benefits. Performed maintenance engineering work on electro-mechanical hydraulic actuators, flight instrumentation, generators, hydraulic pumps, gate valves, bypass valves, etc. Worked with the Storage, Analysis, Failure evaluation and Reclamation (SAFR) program to identify, inspect, analyze faults, and develop repairs for critical parts based on current or emerging technologies. Coordinated directly with maintenance mechanics to answer Maintenance Engineering Calls (MECs) which provide clarification, deviations, and information on technical data used for overhaul.

September/2012 to January 2015 – Mechanical Engineer for Camber Corporation, Corpus Christi, Texas

HRS per week: 40-45

Collected the necessary data to provide an appropriate solution to complex problems and recommended a proposed solution to the government Aviation Missile Research Development Engineering Command (AMRDEC) engineer for approval. Also, performed all of the above tasks from prior job.
