Managed the largest showroom in the U.S. for this wholesale/to-the-trade company specializing in

furniture, accessories, lighting and wall decor for the TV/Film, interior design and retail markets. Set - and

broke - sales records for the highest-grossing week, and the highest-grossing month in the company's 45+

year history. Duties included Los Angeles-centric sales and marketing planning, hiring and training all

additional personnel, creating, ordering, and visual merchandising for the first off-the-floor Annex

showroom in the US, and creating and producing sales and promotional events to drive and increase

revenue and promote and raise the visibility of the Palecek brand.

Being based in Los Angeles, I had the opportunity to meet and work with top trade and consumer

publications, as well as major interior designers, art directors, set decorators and celebrities in both film and

television. Some highlights were: The Annual Global Green Pre - Academy Awards party, the Sundance

Film Festival Style House with Kelly LaPlante, HGTV's ELLEN'S DESIGN CHALLENGE series

(Designed/decorated Ellen's green room), Dennis Hopper's private art exhibition, and the National

Geographic Home Collection launch. Celebrity customers included: Steven Levitan (Co-Creator,/

Writer,MODERN FAMILY), Angela Bassett, Leah Remini, Greg Kinnear, Bryan Batt, Gary Ross (Director,

SEABISCUIT; PLEASANTVILLE) and Katherine Heigl (GREY'S ANATOMY). I frequently coordinated

showroom shoots and interviews for design-related television shows, such as HGTV's DESIGNER'S

CHALLENGE, DESIGNING FOR THE SEXES and Bravo's TOP DESIGN. Interfaced and coordinated

showroom events with many publications, including: Los Angeles Magazine, California Homes, Western

Interiors, Pasadena Magazine, Los Angeles Times, California Home + Design and Form Magazine. Worked

with two designer/authors, in placing product in their books: Kelly LaPlante's ECOLOGIQUE: THE

STYLE OF SUSTAINABLE DESIGN and Olga Tuchscher Krasnoff's DINING BY DESIGN: THE

CREATIVE GUIDE TO ENTERTAINING. I designed the stage setting for actor Cary Elwe's book signing,

AS YOU WISH.

In addition, I worked with many Art Directors and Set Decorators for film and television projects: MAD

MEN, REVENGE, SCANDAL, DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES, LUCK, AFTER THE SUNSET, SEX AND

THE CITY - THE MOVIE, ZATHURA: A SPACE ADVENTURE, and GRACE & FRANKIE.

Opened, managed and closed sales for the first showroom in the US for this Chinese

antique importer previously located in the L.A. MART Design Center. Coordinated the

set-up and daily operation of the Tenango booth at trade shows, including the Los

Angeles and San Francisco International Gift and Home Furnishings markets.
