EXPERIENCE

Engineer, KBC Advanced Technologies

Parsippany, NJ, July 2013 – April 2015:

- Identified process opportunities for oil refinery to operate more safely, efficiently, and profitably.

- Lead modeler for refinery-wide Petro-SIMTM flowsheet. Consulted unit process engineers along with monthly yield data to accurately reflect the southern US refinery’s operation. Five months.

- Supported risk-based mechanical integrity (RBMI) assessment with full characterization of process fluids in every vessel of Rocky Mountain US refinery. Five months.

- Created detailed model of crude unit preheat exchanger network as well as implemented fouling monitoring utility, HX Monitor, for eastern Canadian refinery. Used utility to explore possible cleaning scenarios to then advise on which exchangers to prioritize cleaning during next turnaround. Five months. Cased Hole Wireline Field Engineer, Schlumberger Overseas S.A. Awali, Kingdom of Bahrain, August 2011 – April 2013:

- Measured and interpreted data to characterize oil/gas wells.

- Managed a Wireline cell which included six crew members of varying experience levels, a Wireline truck, and our tools and equipment.

- While at the well site, supervised entire rig operation with a keen emphasis on safety. One common service involved the handling of explosive material, so it was imperative to maintain a strict culture of following the standard operating procedures. Completed nearly 200 jobs with zero Non-Productive Time and zero injuries.

Intern, KBC Advanced Technologies

Parsippany, NJ, January, June – August 2009:

- Compiled a comprehensive database describing aromatics processing to make future consulting more efficient.

- Reconciled and analyzed data through mass and component balancing.

- Modeled client’s reactors with Petro-SIM.

PROJECTS Characterizing Mass Transport in a Novel Single-use Bioreactor (2010-2011):

- Performed literature review to become familiar with fundamental mass transport concepts used in bioreactor analysis.

- Designed and ran experiments to measure mass transport parameters.

- Analyzed data with MATLAB and presented preliminary findings. SKILLS: Aspen Plus®, Petro-SIM™, MATLAB, Java, Python LANGUAGES: English, Portuguese (USA/Brazil Dual Citizen), Spanish (Basic) LEADERSHIP: Schlumberger Loss Prevention Team (LPT) Leader (2012-2013) – Held weekly meetings with LPT to discuss pressing safety issues.
