Quality Control Assistant

As Lead Inspector, current responsibilities include conducting First Article Inspection (FAI), documenting data for all helicopters and aircraft hardware (OH58D, Bell 407, AH-64 Apache, MI-17 and C-130) which prioritize jobs for internal inspectors, aids outside source inspectors, and documents nonconforming hardware.

Ensures that the Quality Management System is updated, is continually improved upon, and that the system complies with the requirements of the ISO9001 or the AS9100 Standards Received kudos from management for each of my efforts.

Utilizes tools such as calipers, gauges and weights. Responsibilities include preparing and performing tests to provide support of Quality Control as well as to Research and Development. I possess specialized testing experience and operate High Pressure Burst Chamber, Varian Vacuum Leak Detector, Micro Hardness Tester, Torque Stand, Harden Tester Stand, Tensile Stand, Stretch and Puller Stand, the Helium Leak Stand, and Operating Faro Machine. My ability to operate multiple machines allowed the company to utilize more personnel for other operations.

Verifies the in-process and final assembly of drawing (blueprint) specifications are the same as well as ensuring all drawings are current.

Verifies final configuration and completes the as-built versus as-designed reports. Also conducts dimensional inspection as needed, generating and completing all non-conformance reports and providing quality coverage on any special projects as required by management.

Duties and responsibilities include inspecting FOD (Foreign Object Debris) free zones, hazard identification and classification in the workplace environment, hazard tracking, enforcing safety regulations, inspecting equipment and ensuring the calibration of machines is being conducted in accordance to schedule.

Responsible for planning, managing, coordinating, reviewing, reporting and scheduling production before-builds and the end of business day check log.

Approves finished products by confirming specifications, conducting visual and measurement tests, returning products for re-work confirming re-work.

Supports Manufacturing and Engineering divisions with schedules and all required documentation ensuring that production stays within cost and schedule.

Assists in monitoring supply actions ensuring the timely delivery of repair parts and components

Creates and maintains data records in SharePoint and on company software ensuring that the company has a database that can be referred to.

Trains entire staff on document control processes and procedures for quality audits ensuring all documents assigned the correct Configuration Management assignee. Emphasizes the need for quality audit procedures resulting in a better product.

Examines manufactured product, primarily helicopter armor, ensuring parts meet all military specifications

Acts an impartial third party between the production source and the customer facility ensuring the product meets threshold criteria.

Studies product specification and work instructions to ensure that they match.

Perform visual inspections, mechanical and functional verification of parts to ensure standards are met.

Tag and isolate defective materials so that they do not enter the manufacturing line.

Makes independent judgments for subjective calls on a daily basis.

Communicate sort/inspection results to managers, supervisors and production source.

Support Company Health and Safety Policy

Provides all relative information on production progress and completion of work. Recommends the realignment of personnel ensuring that all work is completed on schedule.
