• While working at Courier Publishing in 2000, I was able to master the Creo direct-to-plate computer printing system in record time (less than a week). I became the sole operator and troubleshooter for the EPP department for that shift.

• While working for the Sylvan Lake Improvement Association, I submitted successful applications for wetlands and watershed improvement grants at the State and Federal levels.

• I spearheaded an effort by communities and individuals in Noble County, Indiana, to oppose the County Commissioners’ and Surveyor’s plans to turn the Elkhart River into a regulated drain. That included becoming an expert in Drainage Code law, then guiding a successful legal effort through the Indiana State Appellate Court (without a law degree).
