Over 26 years of experience as an automotive and diesel equipment mechanic, 15 of those
years were as a vehicle maintenance manager and/or supervisor
Administrate over the FASTER vehicle maintenance management system and train personnel
on operating procedures
Supervise and monitor repair operations, activities, and standards through daily consultation
with designated supervisory personnel of automotive repair shop and a landscape equipment
repair shop
Review major repair estimates and assess whether vehicles should be repaired, overhauled or
retired
Monitor and review production reports for university vehicles and motorized equipment
requiring maintenance or repairs
Process invoices to accounting for payment to vendors
Interact with customers to ensure timely response to their needs: resolve any conflicts,
complaints, or address any concerns of our customers
Ensure established rules, policies, and procedures developed concerning vehicle maintenance
and repairs are adhered to; license and registrations are current on university vehicles
Observe preventive maintenance schedules and monitor schedules concerning university
equipment
Analyze vehicle utilization reports and make fleet equipment recommendations
Manage new vehicle purchases and orders
Oversee timesheet reports and monitor leave requests for maintenance personnel
Assist in diagnosing engines, body defects or other components and recommend proper plan
of action
Class B CDL with Passenger endorsement
Certified in the use of Microsoft Office software to include Excel, Outlook and Word
EXPERIENCE
Management/Supervision
Fleet Manager of university Facilities Operations and Development (FOD) vehicle and
equipment maintenance program, including maintenance on light duty vehicles, heavy
equipment, tractors and landscape equipment; supervise scheduled and unscheduled
maintenance
Supervised daily the maintenance programs including scheduled and unscheduled
maintenance in a public transit bus facility on over 200 buses
Prioritized daily workloads and coordinated appropriate maintenance procedures
Advised the Director on equipment and work order status changes, areas of improvement and
prepared reports for briefings daily
Ensured strict compliance with federal, state and local shop safety procedures
Helped diffuse conflicts with supported customers and shop personnel
Conducted visual inspections of maintenance facilities and operational tests to determine the
need for and the performance of repair work to buildings, utilities and grounds
Currently enrolled in the CAFM, Certified Automotive Fleet Managers course
Maintenance and Repair Experience
Repaired, removed and replaced diesel engines, fuel pumps, injection pumps, water pumps,
transmissions, differentials, tires, electrical components, pneumatic and hydraulic systems,
steering and brake systems and minor body repairs
Mentored, coached, trained, and advised maintenance supervisor personnel and technicians
Proficient with hand tools, air and electrical power tools, hydraulic and electrical lifts,
overhead cranes, recovery vehicles, and minor body repair tools
Rebuilt, removed and replaced charging and starting systems, brake calipers and radiators
Experienced with ARC welding equipment and oxygen and acetylene torch use
Familiar with CNG based technology
