BP Berau has initiated the development of the next phase of the Tangguh LNG facility located in the Bintuni Bay region of West Papua. The existing two train LNG plant pro-cesses gas received via two pipelines from offshore platforms Vorwata A and B (VRA/VRB) that access reserves from the Vorwata field. These platforms are approxi-mately 20km north east of the Onshore Receiving Facilities (ORF). The overall Tangguh Expansion Project is comprised of the development of new onshore and offshore facilities on a brownfield site.
This project is focused on the first phase of the offshore facility development, covering the construction of offshore Gas Production Facilities (GPF) which will include installing two platforms, Roabiba A (ROA) and Wiriagar A (WDA), and associated pipelines from WDA to ROA and ROA to ORF to deliver the required well fluids to meet the gas produc-tion demands of a third LNG train.
