SUMMARY

Over 20+ years in a progressively challenging Accounting / Financial Environment with a strong emphasis on financial analysis, financial statement preparation, budgeting / forecasting, market research, strategic planning, cash management, payroll, account analysis & reconciliation, team management and many more. I am looking for a new opportunity in a finance/accounting position that I can truly add superior value to your organization.

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

TAFT STETTINIUS & HOLLISTER. Cincinnati, OH Aug. 2008 – Jan. 2016

Manager of Research and Recognition (Financial Analysis) June 2012 – Jan. 2016

This position was a combination of financial analysis duties and strategic marketing efforts reporting to the Chief Marketing Officer, Executive Committee and Managing Partners of the firm. It was eliminated in Jan. 2016 due to a corporate-wide restructuring effort.

Design and produced several quarterly reports and additional research projects that use my financial analysis background. Highlights include the Marketing group statistics report that tracks all of Taft’s marketing efforts from news releases to social media posts, a Taft Business & Finance Practice Group report that records all of the Venture Capital, M&A and Private Equity deals and transactions that have been closed since 2013 and the overall 90/10 Taft Report that tracks all of current clients for the past 5 years by total revenue sorted by office, practice group, attorney and client years.

Put together a comprehensive plan to organize and streamline the attorney ranking process. Taft had sporadically participated in some of the rankings in the past. Now there are submissions for all of the major ranking organizations like Chambers USA, Martindale-Hubbell, Best Lawyers, Super Lawyers, US News & World Report & Best Lawyers “Best Law Firms”, Benchmark Litigation & Plaintiff and the various local rankings like Cincinnati Magazine “Leading Lawyers”. Since the implementation of my plan, selections for all rankings have grown substantially ranging from 10% year over year increases in Chambers to being selected in 8 National Tier 1 Rankings for “Best Law Firms” in 2016 from 0 in 2014.

Design and implemented a coordinated research policy for the firm. These requests range from info on a particular company, specific contact, prospective client or current client to competitors in our markets or general news that could affect the firm. Over 50 of these research requests ended in successful pitches for new business.

Financial Analyst Jan. 2010 – June 2012

Business Analyst Aug. 2008 – Jan. 2010

Calculated the bi-monthly Equity and Income Partner salary calculations that were then submitted to ADP for payment. In over 3 years of doing this, my calculations were accurate over 99%.

Helped design and implement the comprehensive Partner Annual Review statistical report for all Equity and Income partners that was used for increasing/decreasing their compensation due to their contributions to the firm.

Work with the CFO and Controller on various ad hoc financial projects and numerous financial reporting requests from practice groups or individual attorneys.
