Served as Energy Manager for the Charleston Naval Weapons Station located in Goose Creek, SC. Overall responsibility for reducing the energy/resource consumption by monitoring and analyzing energy consumption and costs; managing energy conservation projects; developing energy consumption forecasts; provide coordination, technical support, and supervision to monitoring and energy management efforts; provide education and training to military and civilian personnel. Reviews technical energy projects, researches new technology for energy savings, implements an energy awareness program, and serves as the technical point of contact for energy related issues.
Developed a comprehensive Energy Management and Water Conservation Program for the Charleston Naval Weapons Station. Awarded the Secretary of the Navy Blue Level designation for overall program in 2007, the Gold level in 2008, and Blue again in 2009. First time for Charleston Naval Weapons Station to receive any recognition. This achievement was realized even though no funding was provided for energy improvement projects over the three year period.
Researched and developed first renewable energy project, thermal solar, for Charleston Naval Weapons Station. Also, developed first municipal LED street lighting program in South Carolina in the Town of Mt. Pleasant.

Work included writing policies and procedures for operations and maintenance of facilities and infrastructure. Supervised energy management group, human resources, and chaired continuous improvement council. Managed preventative maintenance program and directed development of campus wide systems inventory.
Responsible for an operations budget of $28,000,000, a staff of 300 individuals, and 5,000,000 square feet of medical, research, and academic facilities.

Designed and constructed 1200 square foot specialty classroom building using innovative design and in-house craftsmen. Building completed at a savings of $75,000. Initiated first energy management system, first facilities management system, and first recycling program.
Supervised a staff of 20 on three campuses consisting of 1,000,000 square feet and 46 acres, and completed $58,000,000 of construction. As the only professional engineer on staff, I personally handled project management of all capital projects, prepared plans and specifications for in-house projects, and worked closely with State Engineer.
