Responsibilities: Set-up the weapon refinishing area and developed a paint finish system for weapons. Designed a short 3 shot, 7” barreled shotgun utilizing a Remington 870. This weapon was developed for Police tactical teams. Worked on the development of lightweight suppressors for the US Government. These were fitted to a M2, 50 caliber machine gun, the M16 rifle and the Colt 45 semi-automatic pistol. Built take-down sniper rifles in 50 BMG, 300 WM and .308 Winchester. Developed processes and reviewed blueprint updates. Designed new means to manufacture components using new materials and processes. Did incoming parts QC inspections. Supervised machine shop, and all outsourced contractors and vendors. Managed a move and set up of new facility.

Supervised 14 plus people with the daily operations in the machine shop. Did all tool and die work for the shop’s needs. Designed new tooling and fixtures. Worked with the engineers on new processes and fixturing. Did machine time studies and a way to improve work the output to the floor. Worked with the engineers on new product coming in for repair and servicing. Submitted a cost reduction that saved the company $2,000,000 a year in costs.
