BNSF Railways is one of the largest freight railroad networks in North America. BNSF’s extensive network of wayside detectors measures conditions of each passing freight car, in order to identify any undue stresses on the wheels or other equipment and prevent potential equipment failures and derailments. BNSF worked in collaboration with IBM to migrate the detectors from a legacy system to a java based system.

Aim Reporting is a part of the Aim Project and is involved in moving the legacy reports comprising of COBOL Codes and Mainframe technology to a more strategic platform using Business Objects XI and Crystal Reports according to AGE user’s requirements and standards.

Role & Responsibilities:

Conducted user interviews, gathered requirements, analyzed, and documented Business Requirements for different departments in AGE such as Trend Analysis, Securities, Online Transfers etc for understanding the business reporting functionality of the legacy system.

Created the TO BE state of the reports after analyzing the AS IS documents for different departments and getting new requirements from the report SME’s and Business Application owners.
