*.Key Qualifications:
Work experience: Over 25 years of professional experience, 15 years at management level in leading organizations in Sri Lanka. Since 1989 I have worked with local and international organizations and the United States Agency for International Development in Sri Lanka(USAID/Sri Lanka)
Experience in international development field: Over 11 years of experience at the US Agency for International Development (USAID) accomplishing program activities by planning, evaluating and reviewing projects on Tsunami reconstruction, conflict resolutions, economic development, psychosocial, disabilities, health and welfare programs in most parts of Sri Lanka.
Operating expense budget conceptualization and analyses of program budget requirements for notification: I was a member of the committee for preparation of operational expense budgets and program budgets. Monitoring, performing of periodic reviews, variance analysis and recommends improvements and drafts issue papers.
Financial and physical audits of implementing partner projects: Lead advisory person on financial and physical audits of local partners. I conducted periodical reviews on 10 to 15 partners and submitted recommendations to principals.
Mission Representation: Represented the Mission at several overseas and local conferences. I represented the Mission at both the 2008 and 2011 Chief Accountants conference held in Cairo.
Process improvement: Lead on planning, evaluating and improving efficiency of business process and procedures during the exercise that is carried out annually at the Mission in compliance with the integrity act and on 10-15 local partners with portfolio of over $ 10 million
Organization of trainings and workshops: I was responsible for organizing 4-5 trainings and workshops that were attended by a large numbers of international and local participants in Colombo.

Senior technical authority in the area of financial management for the Mission. Collaborates with the Chief Accountant and the Controller in decision making pertaining to financial management and support to ensure the integrity of fiscal operations, identify areas of vulnerability, and present comprehensive recommendations, including the development of operating policies and controls to ensure their effectiveness implementation.
Developed a new tool to strengthen the reporting process, thus enabling quality and efficiency in reporting program matrix to Senior Management.
Training and Mentoring new employees. In one instant was selected to train a new employee in Tazania, where I spent over 1 1/2 months training a Project Accountant
Provides advise to the Mission Director, Office Chiefs and Program Managers on all aspects of financial management, accounting systems and internal accounting control matters pertaining to the Missions operations and programs.

Key Duties performed as an Senior Accounts Executive
I was responsible for the cashiering process. There were over 10 centers with a daily turnover of $ 75,000 at various parts of the country, to manage a customer base of over 400,000 clients. Performs site visits, and recommend improvement strategies.
I was solely responsible for streamlining the bank reconciliation process. At the time when there was no proper system in place for reconciliation, through my intervention I was able to develop a daily reconciliation process manually.
I was responsible for preparing the monthly management accounts. The annual turnover was around $ 2.5 million.
I was responsible for preparing the cash flow budgets quarterly for the Senior Management.

I was responsible for a defined customer base of over 20,000 customers, and had to ensure that bad debts were controlled and met the Company’s target level of 5-6%.
