Qualifications and experience : Reproduction and Architectural woodworking;

2015-(June-july): Most recently I were employedat Peninsula Builders, of Gouldsboro Maine, as a

carpenter: doing demolition and homerenovation work.

(May-june): were employedat EZ’ millwork of Walpole Massachusetts, this work included milling and cabinet

and counter top component preparation, as well as cabinet panel saw cutting operations.

(Jan-March): Neu Traditionalists millwork of Holyoke Massachusetts, as a mill worker of various recycled PVC

composites, (pergolas and well as other Architectural detailing).

2014-(Aug-Oct): Crane woodworking company, of Norwalk Connecticut, Worked as a cabinet maker. Work included

milling, sub-assembly glue up’s, and molder operations.

(Jan-May): Herrick and White Architectural Design and Woodworking, in Manville RhodeIsland, as a

cabinet maker; work included cabinet assembly and face frame application, cabinet door and drawer fitting and various hardware

installations, as well as precisehardwood preparation and application.

2011-2012: Northern Timber Framing, Whitenden Vermont ; Assembly of timber frame & pre-cut homes,site clean up

and production flow preparations and assembly work. This jobs also included weekly commuting to various north-east area job sites.

2010-2011: J.S.Benson Woodwork and Design, Brattleboro Vermont ; Work included; custom millwork and

materials processing (rough to finish), molder machine operations, bench work: joinery, assembly, sanding and scrapping. Also door

hanging and window fitting, deliveries, and on sight tune up’s as required.

2003-2009: Architectural Components, Montague Massachusetts, Reproduction and custom woodwork, including; the

building of custom doors and windows, selection and the milling of lumber, set-up’s and operation of industrial grade machinery

e.g., mortising and tennoning machines, shapers, four siding molders, various types of saws and also router operations for hardware

as needed. Work types also included: custom sill making, the lay out and building of curved and arched work, bent lamination

procedures,various types of door and window fabrication (from the rough milling processesthrough assembly) door hanging and

window fitting. Also- hand planeing, tool sharpening and jig making, as well as shop problemsolving.

2002-2003: Eastern Design inc ., Manville RhodeIsland, Custom millwork shop; materials processing and fabrication of

cabinetry and millwork details, sanding and sweeping.

2001-2002: J.S.Benson woodwork and Design, Brattleboro Vermont, custom

woodworking; materials processing and massproduction style (rough to finish) fabrication of doors and windows. Including stave

core style construction, Mortise and tennon joinery and assembly and sanding procedures.Also door and window hanging and

fitting, site

deliveries and somesite installation work.

2000-2001: Osprey Construction, Boulder Colorado, Carpentry and millwork; Shelving

and laminate work for the Boulder co-operative supermarket: including the design and production line assembly of store shelving

units, sanding operations, as well as several clear polyurethane coats. Also included laminated counter top design, production and

installation.

Another Osprey Const. job involved condominium renovation work: radiator valences’ with perforated metal grate inserts for venation, individually sized and fit to accommodate the

pre-existing steam heating system. Also a custom piedmont style wooden entranceway which overhung the front door. As well as traditional stick style re-framing and some

wallboard patching.

1999-2000: The Jim Mizar house, Warwick Massachusetts.

Accomplished the drafting, fabrication and assembly of 19 th century reproduction style (doors and windows) for the Mizar colonial

reproduction home. Including: true divided light windows units, (sash and frames)as well as stormsand screens.Also the frame and

panel door construction style for the entirety of the Mizar colonial home. Also various other small custom woodworking projects:

other storm and screenjobs, and somefurniture refurbishing- which can be found in an historical hotel reopenednear the Becan hill

district in Boston; This job also included: a walnut and maple (frame and panel construction style) reception desk.

1998-1999: Brothers woodworking, Westfield Massachusetts. Custom architectural woodwork and cabinetry. Work

included: bank style counter stations, layout, fabrication of parts and pre-assembly. And other cabinetry work, cleaning and

sweeping as well as sanding.

1993-1998: Architectural Components, Montague Massachusetts . Including custom woodwork. The selection and the

milling of lumber. Machinery set-up’s and their operation; mortising and tennoning machines, shapers, saw’s and routers procedures.

I also built various types of solid wood reproduction doors and windows, including hand planning and pegging detailing. I Also

helped too established and maintain a more accelerated shop production flow.

1992-1993: Bradford woodworking, of FlorenceMassachusetts, Who’s work included European style cabinetry, parts

processing, drawer face and hardware installation. Also the fabrication and assembly of Baltic birch & dove tailed joined drawer

boxes.

1991-1992: Amherst woodworking, Northampton Massachusetts. This work included window and door fabrication and

assembly procedures- machine set up’s and theire coordination (joinery preparation) as well as sanding. Also molder machine

operations.

1989-1990: Architectural Components, Montague Massachusetts (a helpers position).

Assisting other woodworkers with the fabrication and assembly of custom colonial style

reproduction windows and doors, 18 th & 19 th century . Sharpenedtools, hand planed, pegged,

sanded, and swept and shoveled the shop. I Also loaded and delivered the products.

1988-1989: Herrick & White woodworking, Manville RhodeIsland, (an entry level woodworking position). The Work

included; milling lumber, parts processing and assembly, and machine operations. Lamination processes(cabinets and counter tops):

edgebanding, sheet application, routing, fileing and scribing where needed. Also- cabinet door and drawer front hinging & hanging,

& inline boring operations. And also the Milling and the massproduction style assembly of De’Angelo’s restaurant (solid oak sided,

and bent forest green laminated) bench seat units.

I also assisted with the processing and gluing up of parts regarding: brick lamination, and the circular assembly of window jamb

units, as well as other stack lamination style work in the round. I also were involved in the listing, cutting out, machining and

assembly of numerousplywood drawer boxes. And (as always) sweeping, cleaning and tending to scrap boxesas required to maintain

a safe work environment.

Education : Graduated in 1986 with honors from the Amherst regional high school in Massachusetts, an industrial arts

proficient ‘jack of trades’ and I also received a certificate of excellencein electronics.

Further (collegelevel) education included:

1986-1988: The University of Massachusetts, Amherst Mass ., Completed three semestersof general liberal arts

education courses.

1988-1989: The New England Institute of Technology, of Warwick RhodeIsland, with a major concentration of

Building construction and Cabinet making: Including drafting, conventional and traditional houseframing theory, coderegulations,

print reading, cost estimating and project fabrication.

I Left the program with a 3.97 GPA after attending night school for one quarter and securing a full time entry level woodworker

position with the Herrick & White millwork Co.

1990-1991: Greenfield Community College, Greenfield Massachusetts,

Earned a certification in computer aided drafting and design; trained in Auto CADD Release10 (PC version) and Claris CADD 2.0

software (an early Macintosh program).This program included a strong emphasis on traditional drafting methodsand print reading,

as well as technical writing courses.

Background : Personally: I enjoy live music, good food, fresh ale, and most outdoor recreation; camping, bicycling and hiking.

Professionally: I enjoy high end woodwork, seeing it, utilizing it and very much so fabricating it. As well as tactical intermingling

to get the project done efficiently.

In the future I hope to becomea more efficient woodworker (with regard to product assembly and proficiency of milling practices),

work different variations of wood and enjoy a more financially rewarding career.
