Accomplishments
One of 4 leaders chosen to Lead and implement the Lean philosophy throughout the entire company
Introduced new SCM and Lean tools and techniques, such as SWOT analysis, 5S, Kaizen and Value Stream Mapping. Implemented a Cross Training Matrix and established best practices, considering organizational relationships, and financial impact to improve the Supply Chain and company’s performance. Implemented the API Q1 QMS into the Supply Chain and at our critical T1 suppliers
Developed and implemented inventory processes and procedures. Reduced stock outages by 98% through Kanban implementation, Min/Max levels, process improvements and analysis tools. Implemented a Point of Use system for inventory and manufacturing operations, along with supermarkets with pull queues / signals. Created level loading techniques for continuous material flow through the manufacturing line.
Built and managed a Supplier Qualification/Audit Program for Critical Tier 1 Suppliers. Developed and managed long-term strategic relationships. Created and implemented a strategic supplier partner relationship strategy in lieu of the typical transactional type resulting in a 65% reduction of suppliers and a dedicated team of suppliers able to react to customer needs. Suppliers consistently maintained a Quality performance rating of 98% and an OTD of 95%. Implemented and refined a Supplier Risk Management Program to identify and mitigate operational business risk to the organization from the supply base
Created a strategic forecasting and stocking program for Raw Material with Local Distributors and the Steel Mills located in various areas of Europe. The material is specialized and was not kept on the shelf at local distributors in the quantities used. By keeping the material flowing in various areas of the manufacturing process and Supply Chain, it ensured that material was available at all times. Raw steel billets were kept on the floor at the mill, managed by a three month rolling forecast of material at the distributors. The results of the program ensured zero stock outs, a high quality product, a strong reactive supplier relationship, and material costs were controlled in spite of an unpredictable metals market.
Accomplishments cont’d
• Built a dynamic team of highly technical purchasing professionals that were Subject Matter Experts (SME) on the company products, component parts, manufacturing processes, and machining practices, enabling them to work independently with little or no assistance, it was the one thing, that the sales, quality and engineering teams stated made a significant impact on their projects accuracy and lead time to completion. They could turn over their requirements and not have to look back.
