EXPERIMENTAL PROJECT

Project Title #1

Title : Significance of partial replacement of cement by ground granulated blast furnace slug in quarry dust replacement concrete.

Description:

The main objective of the project is to find out the new type of concrete by using ground granulated blast furnace slag as partial replacement of cement and quarry dust is used to replace fine aggregate. This replacement helps in minimizing the usage of cement and sand. This also helps in reducing the environmental problems and also reducing the demand of natural resources.

Title : Study and characterization of textile and paper sludges in cement mortar (This M.E project was done in Central Electro Chemical Research Institute under the guidance of Dr.R.Selvaraj Principal Scientist, CECRI, Karaikudi.)

Description:

The main objective of my project is to develop new type of concrete by using the waste materials such as paper sludge and textile sludge. These materials usage are more needed in construction field due to the demand of natural resources. If these materials are used in proper manner, the constant creation of new landfill areas will be minimized. The dumping of these wastes in land areas causes environmental problems like contamination of underground water, soil contamination. Considering in all criteria, the optimum percentage of replacement of sludge’s were foundout. This replacement of sludges can be helpful in minimizing the production of cement and also helps in minimizing the above mentioned problems.
