EMAS CHIYODA (Subsea), Houston, TX 2013 – 2016
Project Engineer II
Aligned multiple subsea, topside EPCI and pre-commissioning project scope executions (for Reeled pipeline, flexible and subsea system installations) within initiatives of supporting the management of over $3 billion budget and streamlining multi-functional engineering and operational support. Acted as the liaison between the Marine Warrantee Surveyor (MWS), Client Representatives and the Project Management Team.
Delivered efficiency by the understanding scope of work and executing technical project plans and schedules to achieve project goals through accurate estimations, installations, blueprints and mobilization specifications required for Rigid-Reeled Pipeline, SURF, and Heavy-lift project tendering and execution.
Maximized results through working directly with the team of over 50 multi-disciplined colleagues, subcontractors and suppliers to resolve issues quickly and drive project execution design, sequencing, onshore/offshore constructability schedules, and contracts within allocated timelines.
Served as an information resource and technical “go to,” reading construction drawings, evaluating operational constraints, making corrections as needed (red line) and preparing isometrics for clear delivery.
Minimized costs through selecting competitive vendors and cross-referencing cost reports to ensure accuracy in preparing bill of material and processing payments to contractors/3rd party vendors (tugs, barges, supply).
Prepared cost estimates and authorizations for expenditure for capital and expense projects.
Tracked recurring issues to drive resolutions at the root-cause level while performing quick transportation and installation calculation checks to weight distribution (CoG), Static and dynamic mechanics, seafastening checks, rigging/load design, padeye checks, lifting and subsea installation code criterion (CFR, API, DnV, ND, ASME).
Achieved compliance with strong internal controls in place while supervising Rigid-Reeled pipelay, J-pipelay installation, Riser, Flexible and Umbilical system installations.
Developed and reviewed pressure design cases according to API RP1111, CFR 192 & 195, ASME B31.4 & B31.8
Spearheaded safe coordination of offshore topside and subsea installations such as: Jackets, Living Quarters, Subsea Wells, Christmas Trees (XMT), Manifolds, PLET/PLEMs, Jumpers and UTAs.
Conducted safety surveys of field locations identifying immediate/potential hazards and established action plans and follow-up procedures
Sample International/Domestic Projects:
Operations Support Engineer, Lewek Constellation vessel build and fitting with a 3000mT Huisman crane (China)
Procurement Expeditor/Project Engineer/Constructability Liaison, VAALCO petroleum, Etame Expansion Project (China, Singapore, South Africa and onshore Gabon)
Project Engineer/Interface Manager/Construction Support Engineer, ANADARKO- K2 Marco polo tie-back (Gulf of Mexico)
Pre-Commissioning Support Engineer, Noble Energy-Big Bend project (Gulf of Mexico)
DELTA STEEL COMPANY, Nigeria 2006 – 2009
Operations Support Engineer
Managed the scope of operations by directly engaged with project owners and requisitors to gather and analyze current business processes, help identify process improvements, drive engineering and technology solution implementations.
Drove performance by setting targets and managing priorities in-line with requirements and timelines while leading 7 field technicians on daily tasks prioritization, allocating their skills accordingly.
Increased efficiency and transparency with on and off-site operational support to multinational Business Units utilizing Primavera, Asset Management and Integration solutions.
Operationally reviewed pipeline design and construction schedule
Collaborated in the development and implementation of the Integrity Management Plan
Handled the tasks of operating and testing technical specifications of the pipeline design.
Assisted in risk assessment and improvement of Pipeline Integrity Management System
Acted as a point of resolution, facilitating the continuation of workflow through encouraging communications and cooperation between client, safety, construction and engineering personnel.
Mitigated risk exposure by assessing operations, reviewing results, developing asset schedules and minimizing project delays to ensure readiness, logistics (personnel/equipment) and mobilization operations delivery.
Positioned the organization for future improvement by consolidating lessons learned and as-built documentations to help circumvent issues in subsequent projects.
CHEVRON SOUTH AFRICA, South Africa 2005 – 2006
Reliability Support Engineer
Leveraged ability to interpret safety risks and pinpoint issues as an external safety engineer within Chevron’s Energy Technology Company (ETC).
Developed rotating equipment operating switch cycle that helped mitigate future failure and downtime
Planned and implemented reliability centered maintenance program, configuring database for in rotating equipment.
Detailed reporting of reliability issues and exceptions report to asset managers and clients
Assist in troubleshooting rotating machinery problem in plants and identifying root cause of various failures for contractors in the oil and gas sector
Offered preferred solutions and remedial work proposals to clients in oil and gas project with good commercial and financial awareness
Organized and coordinated specialist contractors, design specialist in the installation of rotating equipment (pumps, compressors, fans, motors etc.) according to ISO and API
Diagnosing various rotating equipment faults such as Imbalance, Misalignment, looseness, resonance, cavitation in flow systems in pipeline projects
Safeguarded the organization and personnel by reviewing HAZOP, creating Safety Objective Analysis (SOA) reports, compiling case studies and developing process safety management (PSM) training material.
Conducted safety surveys of field locations identifying immediate/potential hazards and established action plans and follow-up procedures
Highlighted the need for change in root cause analysis (RSA) reports of incidents and assessments of Pre-Fire Plans (PFP) at refinery and Caltex stations.
