OBJECTIVE

I want to obtain a position as an office specialist or micro-computer office specialist, answering phones, entering data onto spreadsheets, filing, writing reports and anything needed as a receptionist. Keeping my mind sharp and focused is an element goal in positions utilizing my skills.

EDUCATION

My training was in education and I completed a Bachelor Degree in Elementary Education have taught school for over thirty years. Also I have continued to seek other types of training from MTI Business College in Cleveland, Ohio in areas of computer work and legal transcription. I have been seeking work in other areas, the business world and had been working on an MBA when funding ran out. The first college was Upper Iowa University (1962-1966)

I have sought experience in many fields other than education and teaching. I have worked at a call center for Sears (1995-2003). Sears sold the credit card company to Citi Corp and I lost my job with them after eight and a half years. I had hoped to work at least ten years with them however they were doing all kinds of cut-backs.

EXPERIENCE

I have experience in: teaching, call centers, cashier for 7-11 and Convenient Stores as well as Sears in 1967 in catalog sales during that summer before going onto a teaching job in Hawkeye, Iowa.

I have a creative side in art and have over three hundred water colors using basic water color or acrylics. I have run media centers for various schools in the Cleveland School System when I taught as a substitute teacher for twenty-three years. I taught art, music and the basic subjects for classes K-8.

Recently I have been doing a lot of volunteer work with KIDS HOPE USA, vacation Bible school. I am a receptionist for registration. Life went downhill for a while during all of the recession problems that millions of Americans faced. I like to work and keep my mind sharp. Presently I am retired. I am looking at many areas to keep earning an income. Everything from selling beauty products to writing and illustrating my own books and holding an art class in my home is what I am attempting to keep working.
