WORK EXPERIENCE

RESEARCH ASSISTANT

Wichita State University, Wichita, KS - May 2015-May 2016

Designed and analyzed the air craft component structures assembly using CATIA v5 r22.

Manufactured Composite Prepegs and used Superhydrophobic Coatings for the composite Materials like Kevlar, Carbon and Glass and have done Moisture Ingression tests on the Fibre reinforced laminated composites.

Uniformly apply wet primers, paints, and wet or dry coatings to parts and components and other items using care to avoid over spraying/coating and to obtain a smooth, covered and even surface free form runs and thin spots. Repeat operations as necessary to obtain desired effect or thickness of media.

Visually and mechanically check coated composites for pin holes, runs, bare spots, proper coverage.

Testing the Moisture absorption for the composite samples which are used in aircrafts.

Studied and analyzed the moisture absorption in aircraft structures by using Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FTIR), UV Tests, Contact Angles, Scanning electron microscope (SEM).

Reviewed results of the composite fibers to calculate moisture absorption and contact angles of the fibers to meet the standards of aircraft industries.

Projects:

Thesis on Investigating the effects of surface super-hydrophobicity on Moisture Ingression of Fibre reinforced Laminate Composites used in Aircraft Structures.

Design of Rope making mechanism.

Tools used-CATIA v5 r22 and ANSYS v14.5.

Automobile windshield wiper mechanism: Single wiper of new Mercedes by using ADAMS. Tools used: CATIA v5 r22 and MSc ADAMS.

Working mechanism of an Aircraft’s elevator.

Tools used: CATIA v5 r22 and MSc ADAMS

Six Sigma Application For The Telecommunication Department in WSU.

Tools used: DMAIC, DMADV, SIPOC, VOC, QFD, DoE, FMEA, Minitab, P Chart.

GRADUATE ASSISTANT:

Wichita State University, Wichita, KS - January 2015 -May 2015

Instructed Computer Aided Engineering Lab for undergraduate and graduate students involving parametric, part modeling, assembly design, surface design, sheet metal design and engineering drafting/drawings using CATIA v5 r22 & SOLIDWORKS 2015 and Finite Element Analysis lab comprising of pre-processing, modeling, post processing and analysis using ANSYS v14.5 and meshing using HYPERMESH v11

Developed, reviewed and approved new designs and recommendations on the preparations of projects and their data, accomplishing all the projects from cradle to grave.

Conceptualized 2D drafting with view layout, projection views, section views in order to gratify Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerances (GD&T) & 3D models for selective automotive & mechanical components.

Analyzed structural stresses and performed component wise in depth meshing of the CAD profiles created using ANSYS v14.5 and HYPERMESH v11 respectively.

STUDENT ASSISTANT:

Wichita State University, Wichita, KS August 2014- January 2015

Conceptualize and design new parts and components for building interior suppliers.

Create 3D CAD geometry and drawings of these concepts and designs so they can be prototyped using different manufacturing techniques, including 3D printing.

Manage resources to complete the proposed work on time, budget, and with the quality expected from our clients. Prepare working proposals for the continuation of the research.

Administered customer queries and resolved issues over phone.

Performed office duties: resetting routers, making copies, sending faxes, organizing documents and collecting data of Inventory.

DESIGN ENGINEER

Cad zone solutions India private Ltd, India. July 2012-June 2014

Designed & drafted for a Gen set Canopies and concrete mixing truck with self-loading using CATIA v5 and AutoCAD for better cooling and driving compatibility.

Assessed engineering parameters for the air cooled engine stress and analysis

Evaluated various designs and structural parameters for a truck, modifying the available CAD designs and analyzed different stress occurring during a truck using ANSYS v12

Efficiently identified the most efficient and acceptable resolutions to complex engineering problems such as angle of attack on leading and trailing edge, air density, speed of the truck and the size and shape of the engine.

Effectively Planned, scheduled and coordinated detailed phases of large-scale projects involving design of Canopies.

Performed cost optimization by implementing Design for Manufacturing and Assembly (DFMA).

Formulated process drawings, process flowcharts, Engineering Change Number (ECN) with good interpretation applying DFMA and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance (GD&T) techniques.

SKILLS USED: DFSS, CATIA V5 R22, AUTOCAD, ANSYS, FMEA, Control Charts, Rapid prototyping.

Projects:

Design of Gen set Canopies, Cad zone, India.

Tools used: CATIA v5 r22.

Concrete Mixing Truck Trailer with Self Loading, Cad Zone, India.

Tools used: AutoCAD and CATIA v5 r22.

MECHANICAL ENGINEER INTERN:

The Singareni Collieries Company Limited (SCCL), Khammam, India. December-2011 to April 2012

Modification of Mechanical Hoist Control Valve using Hydraulic Circuit in Dumper using CATIA V5 r22.

Designed air cylinders by giving tolerances and dimensioning to the system by using CATIA and analysis is done for the cylinders by using ANSYS and modifying the Mechanical hoist control valve in to Electrical control valve & this is done with the help of a solenoid block and additional air cylinder.

The air cylinders are placed at the top of hydraulic reservoir. Due to the modification of the hoist control valve in to electrical control valve it is seen that the wear and tear of hoist cylinder decreases thereby increasing the component life and also the maintenance cost decreases.

INTERNSHIP:

International Advanced Research Centre for Powder Metallurgy and New Materials, (ARCI), Hyderabad, India April 2012- September 2012

Synthesis and Characterization of Metal-CNTs Nano Composites by Electro Less and Electro Deposition.

Synthesized Metal CNTs Nano composites in which CNTs are coated with Copper by Electroless deposition and these metal coated CNTs will be incorporated into the metal matrix. These composites are excellent candidates for thermal management, electronic applications etc.

Characterized Metal-CNTs Nano composites results by using Scanning Electron microscope, Raman Spectroscopy and X-Ray Diffraction Techniques.
