HIGHLIGHTS OF QUALIFICATIONS

Embed tissue specimens correctly within the time frames set by the Pathologist

Cut sections of tissues specimens with operation of microtome

Prepare microscopic slides on human tissue for diagnostic purposes

Examine slides under microscopes to ensure proper mounting and H&E staining of specimens

Perform and record maintenance to tissue processors, embedding centers, microtomes, water baths and strainers

Stain tissue specimens with dyes or chemicals to make cell details visible for microscopic examination

Run electronic laboratory equipment to dehydrate tissue samples

Prepare or use prepared tissue for training, study or diagnostic purposes

Cut and stain specimens for direct immunofluorescense or microscopy
