Me, Myself -
I am JOYDEEP ROY, born on **th of May, 1968 to Mrs. Indrani Roy- currently retired LICI officer and (now late) Mr. Jayanta Kumar Roy who retired as the Vice Principal – LICI Sales Training Centre. I am married and a father to a daughter. Me, my mother, my wife and my daughter are cohesively an unit and our humble nest is addressed as -‘Darbar’, BK 217, Sector II, Salt Lake,
Kolkata 700 091.
I have experience in working outside my own radius of relatives and friends – away from Kolkata, residing and working at New Delhi, with an intention of relocating and venturing even further towards a more successful career. I am ready to relocating anywhere throughout the country or abroad.
My Education –
The lesser I talk, the better.
I have always wanted to become a painter but my parents did not want to see a vagabond in me.
I have always wanted to become an artist but my parents did not want me to become an anonymous.
The ‘clash of the titans’ remained all throughout my entire academic career, - which resulted in neither this, nor that.
Higher Secondary, and that’s it. Enrolled in Calcutta University, but did not complete the degree. Instead, I opted to mingle with the ‘good-for-nothings’ of the society and often illumined different public places with lots of newsprints, pencils, conte, charcoal and crayons. I am a ‘self-taught’ artist and painter. (I am allergic to this word – ‘self-taught’, because my learning is not over yet, never will it be, but still had to mention as a matter of convention.)
My Working Experience –
I have worked as a graphic designer for the last 16+ years in Kolkata, exploring every possible projects on graphics in creating all types of corporate identities and collaterals- initiating from logos to business cards, letter heads, envelopes, brochures, product catalogue and other POP items such as posters, danglers, streamers, flyers etc. for different products.
I was responsible for the administration of my department. ( I know it for sure that I am an efficient ‘Care Taker’! )
I have designed creative packages for perfumeries.
Besides other notable projects, I have had an honour of designing an entire book on Ankor Wat, Cambodia,
- a project with a conglomerate of painters from all over India.
It is also a matter of great honour for me to mention that my pencil drawing had been used as subject of artwork.
Had been working in New Delhi as a Graphic Designer since September, 2015.
Besides other graphic jobs as mentioned above, I visualise WEB TEMPLATES (Low Fidelity Wireframe).
I am conversant with very basic level HTML and 2D animation in FLASH – willing to learn further.
I work with - PHOTOSHOP, ILLUSTRATOR and CORELDRAW, conversant with INDESIGN.
I am a fast learner, open and willing to learn any software or process in order to streamline production.
I have a sound knowledge in Printing - be it DIGITAL, OFFSET or SILK-SCREEN - which helps me a lot in designing and while handling Vector or Raster.
Painting remains my first love though, and unquestionably a wild passion.
Although my forte of painting is mainly in acrylics and oil, I am easy with watercolor as well which always helps me with my initial layouts or study.
I am good in English. I can speak or write.
(Concept and entire copy writing of this matter is on my shoulder - no one’s to blame, but me ! )
I have learnt Hindi in school and Hindi-Movie-Bugs still crawl all over me since the college days.
I am a proud Indian who can speak in Hindi.
My mother tongue is Bengali. I am fluent in it.
I look after the administration fair enough and am open to fit myself in admin as well.
I love music and sometimes indulge myself in studying books on various topics.
My last drawn salary is 30K.
However good, bad or ugly it seems, - do consider the above to be my BIO-DATA!
