VARIETY DIE & STAMPING DEXTER MI

CNC Machinist Mills 3-4 axis Setup, Edit, Run, Machinist, March 2015 - June 2016

● Receive a detailed stack of progressive die blocks prints for die package programs

●Pick up raw material for machines checking material sheets for proper grades & sizes.

●Transfer material to either Lathes Mill & or surface grinders to rough in for machining process

● Using Hands - Carts - Overhead cranes & or HI Low ( listened to use ) .

●Set tolerances to pre heat treat specks & ready for machining process

●Locate on Company drive sent from Engineers computer process # & program # Job #

●Review process on Speeds Feeds Tool sequence & any clearance issues in process

●Send Program to machine tool ( Mill ) @ time too much data for Fanuc control drive so

we can run direct in DRIFT feed but you lose the ability to stop & re run tools. Pros & Cons

●Setting Material into chuck & or vise using -0001 indicators, checking on Flatless & or run out

●Locate & set to controller any & all pick up for pre run quardenance setting X Y Z or as needed.

●Insure that all system are @ proper levels before cycle start ( Oils,Coolant % PSI to chuck / vise

safety devices & support tooling & gauges Seek to reduce any/all NON value activity.

●Select tools in PODS or setup any other tooling that is required & touch off all Z lengths

●RUN machine - offset to prints specks & do any & all required manufacturing checks.

●Think, Feel & look before pulling out of machine to ensure 100% is complete process.

●Remove parts from unit using a safe & trained method ( hand, hoist & or hi low )

●Finalize QA aspect to process & document any critical data that been directed to do so.

●Polish - Deburr & seek to supply A world class product that the Company / End User WILL admire.

●Complete in all aspect a 5-S process to support the next program & take a few seconds to congratulate

Managers... HR- GM - Superviser - Materials - QA - Maintenance & operators for a super effort.

●When units returned when having a Heat Treat application I also did my finish grinding to print specks

MASTER AUTOMATIC, REDFORD & PLYMOUTH, MI

●CNC Machinist to Plant/Program Manager, Apr 1988 - Oct 2014

1988 Formalized CNC division with owners 4 NC machines back of plant, Air bags & small steering components

Duties included, Start up, programming, tooling, coolants, run @ rate & QA acceptance of parts.

1990 Promotion Supervisor Added duties. Safety inspector & 1st aid response team, efficiency in & scheduling.

1993 Relocated CNC Department to new facility 3 buildings down from corporate office.

Programmed in PRE-START up thermo-enhancement for spindle & machine repeat-ability (reduce scrap by 5%)

Reduce downtime @ start-ups & # of possible incorrect offsets in warn up program. Still in use today!

1995 CNC Manager Plant #4 FORD Steering Piston division. Shipping 3- 53 semi-trucks a day for 4.5 years.

Travel to Germany to INDEX Corp for Program management, machine runoffs & capabilities.

Using, Man, Machine, Materials & Method produced a Semi Finish blank @ 12 lbs. each = 8500 parts a day. 500 per container. Raw Materials came in on 2 trucks daily with dual trailers. Piggyback / train style.

Auto loading, Auto Gauging, Auto UN-loading & Julian date imprint on all parts. (Time/date/mach#)

Help implement on-site inventory site management @ Ford Indy plant to help reduce inventory & install JIT system.

We were issued Q1 award during program life. Zed F has taking over program & we still ship parts to them directly.

2003 Plant #5 Delphi Steering Division Piston Program Plymouth Mi. Plant/Program Manager overseeing all aspects in the plant. Supervision-materials, tooling, coolant, plant support Hi Lows, Pumps, Air compressor, QA, HR & shipping A-Z.

KIEZEN plant program- reduce # of touches-space needed, strategic change overs (shared equipment) reduce inventories. Speed of part went from 22 days ALL OPS to under 12 days complete to ship. TAC TIME BLITZ.

Plant was awarded the OUTSTANDING Supplier Award (Pinnacle Award) for Quality & Delivery.

Plant produced 22 different style gears for GM. Shipped multiple times daily. Process included 5 Broaching machines up to 220 inches in length. 2 CNC OD grinders. 4 CNC turning centers 2 CNC form grinders & 9 Mitsubishi Multi Axis turning center. Hi lows & overhead crane with in plant covered trucking wells.

2007 Built new facility in Plymouth & 2008 all plants were consolidated into one facility. 2008- Rescission also impacted this company in a negative manner. All managers took a 20 % pay cut for 14 months to help in downturn.

Directed to report as AREA #2 Manager. All CNC equipment & 2nd operations were now my responsibility. Did new plant orientations & start up training set-goals, objectives, reviews, terminations, scheduling, overtime, production, efficiency in, scrap, & department safety fell under this job description.

2009 MOVED > Shipping Manager transfer @ request of GM & VP. Job was vacated abruptly & the company :-) view was SHIPPING finish Goods is just like the BANK. Many new duties with a negative embedded cultures & low ship score to customer schedule.

Set goals to 90 + % seeking only 100%, 5 S area & having deep intuitive working knowledge of all aspect @ facility over the years we were able in short time, 12 months to get shipping schedule to customer release over 90 % & @ times = 100% & keep it maintained. 100% is the only goal to set!

2011 New PLEX Software system installation @ Master Automatic. Encompassing some PRE- TRAINED Plex associates to navigate new company wide system.

Reallocation > RAW MATERIAL manager. All incoming materials using NEW SYSTEM & streamline it going forward & help convert so plant could utilize. Steel orders, Aluminum orders, Coolants, Oils, millions of dollars of materials fell directly under my responsibility. Using new system after some extensive self-taught training we reduced RAW inventories by 30 % & keep 100% to A & R with no fiscal problems.

26 years never called in ONE PD = 100% & pre- scheduled vacations 6-8 months in advance.

JOHNSON CONTROLS MANCHESTER, MI

CNC Turning Center Machinist, Apr 1986 - May 1988

Primary function > reported to MOLD BODY manufacturing, Set up & produced plastic mold body cavities (Aluminum) for blow molding division. Utilizing 4 jaw chucking system on split body mold cavity. (Soda bottles & Dairy containers) We were able to reduce/hold specified print sizes & achieve micro finish & in doing so reduced polish finish operations by 20 %. Conducted independently a floor trail cleaning project in my work cell & the results were so favorable the plant did a replication in all manufacturing area & it turned out very safe & clean.

BRAY HYDRAULICS, TUCKER, GA

CNC Lathe Machinist, Aug 1984 - Apr 1986

Analyzed hydraulics cylinder's for recondition & tear down for repair & or replace parts that were defected in cylinder. Barrels, tubs, pistons, end caps & push rods. Any working parts of cylinder. Determine the sequence of machine operations, and select the proper cutting tools needed to machine work pieces to print or existing part.

Instrumental in Relocating Brighton Michigan facility to Houston, Texas & operated NC machine tools for Oil Field pipeline industry. The need for onsite large manufacturing personal in 1983 was outstanding experience.
