Participated in one day workshop on Overview of Variable Frequency Electrical Drives, Refrigeration and Air-Conditioning conducted by DANFOSS INDIA at VIT University Vellore.
Two week In-plant training at “MAHAGENCO Koradi Thermal Power Station, Nagpur.” during 15 June 2009 to 27 June 2009. Exposure to Thermal Power Plant. PROJECTS
M. Tech FINAL YEAR Project Title: DIRECT TORQUE CONTROL OF THREE PHASE INDUCTION MOTOR FED BY THREE LEVEL NPC INVERTER BASED ON FUZZY LOGIC. Vector control is the modern technique for the speed control of induction motor. The direct torque control
(DTC) of induction motor has good dynamic performance of torque and flux control. The switching frequency is variable and difficult to control due to hysteresis controllers. To overcome these problems Fuzzy controller is used to reduce torque and flux ripples which will improve the dynamic performance of machine. State Vector Pulse Width Modulation (SVPWM) method is an advanced, computation-intensive PWM method and possibly the best among all the PWM techniques for variable frequency drive application.
M. Tech FIRST YEAR Project Title: NON IDEAL BOOST INVERTER USING SLIDING-PI CONTROLLER FOR LOW POWER APPLICATIONS.
The Boost inverter is used to convert low DC voltage into sinusoidal AC output voltage. Sliding PI controller is used to reduce harmonics of output AC voltage. As single stage of conversion is used so the switching loses will also reduce. The Sliding-PI controller is the combinations of both Sliding mode controller and Proportional Integral controller. It will reduce the Total Harmonics Distortion of inverter output voltage and current which leads to reduction in heat generated in output connected devices.
B. Tech Project Title: SLIP POWER RECOVERY SYSTEM. Project site: Rashtriya Chemicals & Fertilizer Limited, Chembur The Ball mill is used in Phosphoric acid plant at RCF to crush the phosphorous rocks which is driven by Slip Ring Induction Motor. In the slips of that motor lots of power is wasted. So in order to conserve the electricity we studied the slip power recovery techniques. A case study has been done in Machine Laboratory at Gangotri Sankul in this regard.
