Engineering support throughout all coating and painting phases of a project.

Timely completion of coating engineering deliverables within man-hour budget.

Duties and responsibilities

Carried out inspection on blasting and painting equipment prior to the commencement of job.Eg.ASTM D 4285 – Standard test method for indication oil or water compressed air.

Inspection on paint materials to verify shelf life, and storage condition in accordance to the project spec. and manufacturer product data sheet.

Conducts ambient temperature checks e.g. relative humidity, dew point, surface temp, and air temps.

Pre-treatment inspection in order to degrease and use an approved solvent for cleaning areas

Inspection of blasted surface to check for soluble salt contamination less than 30mg/m2 (ISO 8502-3)

Verification of surface profile by using testex tape, visual comparator prior to painting. ISO 8501-1 to 3

Inspection of power tools profile prior to painting to avoid burnishing and to aid adhesion in conjunction project specification e.g. SSPC –SP 11.

Inspection of blast nozzles by nozzle orifice gauge to detect and discard worn nozzles.
