My degree required me as per university rules to work as a volunteer to a community

Centre in Durban called the House of life. It is run by a psychologist from

Dominican Republic who had a dream to come to I South Africa. It was a calling

Of divine intervention through Jesus as she says. Her community centre

Services the poor people. Her centre is well affiliated with (UNISA) as she

Has lots of social worker students who are doing their community service there.

I handled everything from trauma counselling to rape of women and children.

I also counselled children and adults with HIV, women and children abuse,

Domestic violence, hijacking, prostitution, drug abuse, substance abuse and lots

More. I was also doing the soup kitchens everyday where we fed up to 200

People a day. I also provided fitness talks and a nutrition programs for the

HIV victims. I also helped with teaching of the underprivileged kids at the centre

Who are orphaned? I love helping people as it’s my passion to be a humanitarian.

I believe I can be the change I want to see in the world. I am a people's person

And psychology was the profession for me. I worked there for two years.

I started doing a course with the CIC Trauma Training Program where I completed

the personal growth course which is required to be done before you embark on the trauma training course. The course was six weeks long. I will then in the Future be on call to

Counsel at police stations and others.
