Work Experience
SIEMENS LTD. Vadodara, GJ, India. July 2012 - June 2015
Supplier Quality Engineer (Steam Turbines)
Responsible for ensuring product conformance to the specifications for steam turbine components through the supplier performance monitoring and Supplier development initiatives.
Conducted supplier audits to drive process standardization, waste elimination, and continuous improvement.
Involved in inspection of machined, casted and forged steam turbine components at various Siemens Suppliers spread all over India for over 70 projects.
Implemented Lean manufacturing tools like Failure Mode Effect Analysis (FMEA), 8D methods, Pareto Charts and Fishbone diagrams.
Eliminated 2 major reoccurring issues observed at supplier end in steam turbine components, working with Design and SCM department through use of Corrective Action and Preventive Action (CAPA) and Root Cause Analysis (RCA).
Involved in reduction of Non Conformance Cost (NCC) by 3% in a year through Non Conformance Report (NCR) Management.
Acted as a liaison for the production areas on matters related to Supplier-provided material.
Involved in Supplier Rating and Supplier qualification process for existing and new components by monitoring supplier quality performance with specified performance metrics.
Monitored, communicated and improved key supply chain KPI’s, including Supplier OTD (Past due), DPT (Defect Per thousand) and waste.
Involved in review and modifications of Quality Control Plan (QCPs) and Quality Assurance Plan (QAPs) as per customer requirements.
Achieved 99% accuracy in Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) and machining and castings inspections of stream turbine components for the year 2013-2014.
Facilitated timely, effective and efficient Supplier NCR closure for the pending supplier Non Conformances (NCRs) through weekly meetings with Design, SCM, Production and Maintenance department and Siemens Suppliers.
Certified ISO 9001:2008 Quality Management System (QMS) internal auditor.
Awarded with the ‘Outstanding Achievement Award’ by Siemens Ltd for the project on process improvement in hydrostatic test of castings by avoiding use of welded flanges and introducing use of hydro plugs which resulted in significant cost and time saving.
Rucha Engineers Pvt. Ltd (Automotive Sector). MH, India. June 2011 – July 2011 (Manufacturing Intern)
Analysed the complete production and assembly of diesel fuel tanks.
Proposed changes in steps followed in pressing operation resulting in time and cost saving.

Engineering Projects
Process Improvement in Steam Turbine Assembly. Siemens Ltd 2013
Suggested process improvement with the usage of hydro plugs instead of welding for hydro static testing of castings.
Designed the hydro plug and calculated press machine specifications and a sample experiment was carried out on a bearing body.
The project was awarded by Siemens India management for year 2012-2013.
Process Improvement at Dining Service. - Six Sigma Project C3, University at Buffalo
Analysed and reduced the time required to serve the customers by redesigning the dish caddy.
Followed DMAIC Process to achieve required output of time saving of 3 hours per day and cost saving of $7447 per year.
Redesigned the floor plan with 5S methodology to provide better workplace for staff.
Suggested proper maintenance plan using OEE Calculations.
DOE Projects University at Buffalo, Fall 2015
Designed and analysed 2 experimental design case studies with the usage of Full factorial and Fractional factorial design methods.
Process Simulation – Python Programming University at Buffalo, Fall 2015
Developed algorithms and code using Python for Auctioning and operation scheduling process simulation.
The program simulates the processes for large durations and presents the future scenario.
Manufacturing and installation of Bain-marie. May 2011
Bain-Marie: A product used in industry, science and cooking to heat materials gently and gradually to fixed temperatures.
Worked in a team which designed and manufactured the product using various design tools like AutoCAD and CATIA and manufacturing processes like machining, welding, etc.
