Through my career in healthcare management, I have successfully dealt with high stress situations resulting in positive outcomes. I was working on rebuilding my home single handed when my Mother became ill then had a major stroke. Began full time care for her in and out of hospitals, nursing facilities for rehab, then hospice.

Duties as Administrator

Administered the day-to-day operation of nursing facilities licensed for 100 beds up to 206 bed facilities.

Negotiated, reviewed and obtained, via written contracts, services of part-time paramedical personnel (i.e., pharmacist, dietitian, physical therapist, occupational therapist, speech therapist, medical director, attending physicians, etc.)

Prepared annual budgets, planned audit projects, reviewed monthly income and expenses. Prepared daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly written reports.

Handled most of the Human Resources department as I interviewed selected, evaluated, disciplined, and discharged most of the employees. Developed personnel policies consistent with operation of this type of institution and maintained personnel records. Prepared and gave various in-service meetings and conducted daily department head meetings and at least monthly full staff meetings.

Evaluated any capital expense projects which included major supplies, contracts, and additions to facility or remodeling. Put together Scope of Work and evaluated bids while overseeing budget and supervised work of contractors and/or subcontractors.

Marketed facility and set up all Dept. Heads as my Marketing team.

Diligently worked to remain in compliance with all policies and procedures as well as all state and federal regulations.
