Presently working in FLSmidth India Pvt. Ltd. - Chennai.
Flsmidth’s manufacturing facility, located in Sriperumbudur near Chennai, manufactures and supplies minerals processing equipment and consumables catering to the Indian market, as well as exporting to Flsmidth’s operations in Australia, China, South Africa, USA and Chile.
Designation: Assistant Manager – Quality Control
Roles and Responsibilities: -
Responsible to ensure the quality and safety of products manufactured and assembled meets the drawing specification and customer requirement.
Analyze, understand and interpret the drawing specifications, customer requirement and standard specifications.
Review and correlate the International standards with Indian standards and arrive the acceptance criteria with client’s approval.
Responsible to review, evaluate and qualify vendors.
Develop, review and approve QAP and QCP with reference to approved drawing and customer requirement.
Develop and maintain standard operating procedure and check list for all the process.
Qualification of WPS, PQR and WPQR as per drawing and standard specification.
Setting up the quality standards for incoming raw material and bought outs as per approved drawing, client requirement and standard specification.
Ensure the inspection of incoming raw materials meets the requirement.
Ensure the in-process stage inspections are inspected as per QCP.
Responsible for accuracy, timely inspection and circulation of inspection reports.
Ensure the NDE is done as per drawing requirement and standard specification.
Ensure the inspections are offered to customer/Third party Inspectors as per QAP.
Maintain all stage inspection reports, NDE reports and corresponding test certificates.
Co-ordinate with client/Third party Inspectors during inspection and get the clearance.
Maintain the periodic calibration record of all monitoring and measuring instruments.
Ensure NCR raised for any customer complaints, rework, and rejection.
Ensure RCA done for all NCR’s and proper CAPA implemented and documented.
Implementation of Integrated Management System.
Ensure the manufacturing processes comply with QMS by conducting periodical internal audits.
Determining training needs of the operating staff.
Implement cost saving measures to achieve substantial cost reduction.
Focus towards implementing LEAN tools in the process for eliminating waste and continuous process improvement.
Introduce SPC to monitor and maintain the stability of the process.
Introduce 7QC tools for trouble shooting the quality related issues.
Implement QCC to solve process issues with the involvement of operating staff.
Ensured successful implementation of 5S in shop floor.
Recording, analysing and distributing statistical information to top management including the improvement points through MIS.
Regular communication with all stake holders to identify opportunities for continual improvement towards quality and productivity.
Participate in daily meeting and discuss about the daily quality issues and improvement points in the process.
Conduct pre-production meeting and monthly review meetings.

Analyze, understand and interpret the approved drawings.
Receive raw materials from stores by correlating heat no. with material T.C’s.
Qualification of WPS,PQR,WPQR for welding process like SAW,SMAW, GMAW,GTAW in all positions and maintaining the records.
Ensure the stage inspections are carried out and reports are documented.
Ensure that all the welds are 100% free from defects.
Ensure that NDE is done as per the requirement and the reports are documented.
Ensure proper weld visual, welding Round ups and Sharp edges removal.
Monitor the quality of welding and welder performance regularly.
Co-ordinate with L&T QC and TPI during inspection and getting the clearance.
