Maintain inventory for all terminals, pool and depot equipment, prepare daily report of all available equipment to all dray Carriers and all Load Planners/Load Planner Directors, coordinate with Load Planners to assign available equipment to drivers or outside dray carriers, responsible for management of Oversized Pools, including analyzing inbound flows and available idle equipment and working with Load Planners to match loads with idle equipment, manages equipment reservation process, address any maintenance issues at terminal, i.e., cleaning and maintenance of the yard and terminal, including coordinating outside vendors when necessary, review invoices for all terminal vendors and utilities and ensures that bills are paid on a timely basis, enter On Terminal Parking (OTP) Charges for Outside carriers into system, print and maintains a file of all Bills of Lading (BOL”s) emailed to Terminal and ensures that drivers receive as appropriate, assist in printing, faxing or emailing BOL’s for drivers when needed, audit drivers documentation of meal and break periods to ensure that drivers are in compliance with Company policy, oversee contract guards, including coordinating scheduling with security vendor to ensure proper coverage for each shift, assists driver managers by answering phone calls to customers and drivers when needed, assist Document Coordinator in locating missing documents and organizing paperwork.
Inventory Control Specialist Manager, Wal-Mart: Sacramento, Ca – 2001-2006
Unload merchandise from delivery trucks and places stock in the appropriate location such as the backroom and sales floor. Maintain accurate inventory controls by categorizing merchandise in bins by department, labeling overstock merchandise, scanning merchandise daily, adjust inventory levels in the perpetual inventory system, and executing Company programs. Utilize handheld scanner to identify items needed on the sales floor and retrieves merchandise from inventory bins, occasionally utilizing a ladder or power equipment, such as a power jack or sky lift. Monitor area for signs of shrink and potential security risks, and contacts management and/or In-Store Loss Prevention when problems are identified. Ensure a safe and clean environment by maintaining safety standards, such as stabilizing merchandise on risers, high walls, and features; securing merchandise on displays; ensuring ladders are properly secured; removing empty pallets, cardboard, and trash from the sales floor; and performing maintenance and cleaning which requires keeping floors dry, neat, and clean. Communicate and respond effectively to Customer questions about merchandise, locate merchandise, and provide requested assistance, such as verifying in-stock and retrieving items from the backroom. Maintain in-stock by properly delivering merchandise to the sales floor and accurately stocking merchandise on racks and shelves and in bins and cases, including regularly bringing merchandise forward and restocking merchandise returned from other areas. Demonstrate dependability and reliability by being punctual, working assigned shifts, and completing responsibilities in a timely manner. Interact politely and effectively with Customers and Associates by representing Wal-Mart Culture, including the Ten Foot and Sundown Rules.
