Directed Human Resources with approximately 900 team members and 300 contractors. Managed 6 direct reports and 22 indirect reports.
During business start-up, set up Alabama Industrial Development Training (AIDT) for pre-employment selection and training. Assembled a team of instructors and in only 3 months time, fully staffed and trained 1st shift with 300 Team Member’s finishing ahead of schedule. Hired another 300 Team Members for 2nd shift, just 3 months after original production launch. This excellent preparation allowed our production team to focus on building quality parts for our customer.
Managed all Employee Benefits (medical/dental/vision, Basic Life, Optional Life, STD, LTD, 401k), met with medical provider quarterly to discuss utilization, negotiated rates and policies annually with the insurance companies and broker to ensure excellent coverage for our team members and competitiveness in the industry. Our premiums remained below industry and national average.
As North America's company coordinator for Property and Casualty insurance for 2 manufacturing plants and 7 parts distribution centers, negotiated policies with the insurance company annually, ensured consistency of coverage for all locations resulting in lower rates on coverage and significant cost savings.
Managed strategic planning activities; prepared annual department budget; calculated payroll, taxes and insurance expenses for the entire company and prepared annual recruiting and training plans.
Managed bi-weekly payroll process for two manufacturing plants in different states, reduced actual processing time and payroll staff.
Team Member Handbook review annually to ensure policies remained fresh and current, creator of most policies, human resources related forms, procedures and work instructions. These documents were excellent training material for new department Team Members and Supervisors/Managers.

Led Senior Management Staff in the development of Key Performance Indicators (KPI) for the company and their individual departments. Implemented a Gain Sharing and Bonus Program that involved participation by all employees and fostered ownership of company goals.
