Dear Hiring Manager,
I have attached my resume for your consideration. In the last two years, we have made much progress in our special events at the Queen’s Hotel. We have increased the large events from non-existent to creating annual events for companies and people from Christmas parties to retirement, and special company dinners. I am the face and the contact in arranging with guests their desired events. I have had to work with all budgets and helped guests choose their menus, décor, suitable rooms for their event and beverages. It was new territory for us at the Queen’s and in doing so I realized that I have a passion for planning these events and have been successful in creating relationships with my guests to ensure repeat business and exceeding their expectations. It is an area of hospitality I am interested in further pursuing and growing.
In addition to event planning, daily, my duties call for me to answer the phone and handle guest complaints. Attending to customers and their concerns can be very challenging, however my customer service skills are very good. I handle all staffing, scheduling, hiring, firing, as well as working in the accounting office performing many administrative duties.
Besides working, I have been taking my BA online with Athabasca University in Health Administration. I am a year and half into this degree and continuing it on a part-time basis. There are many courses that will assist me in being successful in this position. Some examples are Professional Ethics, Human Resource Management, and Communication in the Workplace.
I believe I would be a good fit for this position. I am very hard working, conscientious, loyal, and can tackle any task given with determination and enthusiasm. I am a fast learner who is very driven and motivated. I have a very good rapport with guests and I love to smile and am very much a people person. I believe that I could take my skills from my current position at the Queens Hotel and utilize and cultivate them in the position that you are offering.
I thank you in advance for reading this and appreciate any consideration given.
Sincerely,
Karyn Rosar Bolfova
