Operations Supervisor / Safety & Production Manager
Oversee complete operations in two plants. Develop Safety Program for Kenai, AK plants. Write new safety manual and ERP plan. Insure plant is compliant with all local, state and federal regulatory agencies. Prepare both plants for regulatory inspections including but not limited to OSHA, FDA, USDA, HACCP, Food Safety, DEC and Fire. Conduct monthly inspections and monitor all worker comp. claims. Install new PPE program while reducing recordable injuries claim from 39 in 2013 (year prior to me taking over the department) to only 4 “medical only” claims in 2014 and NO lost time claims in 2014. Oversee QA Department and all Production included fresh, frozen and IQF products. Insure product quality while maximizing production and recovery. Eliminate product waste while increasing recovery % of finished product. Warehouse -- Oversee all receiving of raw product and supplies, while shipping finished product, domestic and international. Facility produced and shipped over 19 million lbs. of finished product. Install barcode system (Simba) to accurately track all incoming supplies and product shipped. Address all crew issue for a crew of 285 and implement Safety and Production training programs where needed.

Oversee all safety operations (shipyard competent person) and prepare vessel for all inspections due for disembarkment. Conduct daily safety meetings with crew and sub-contractors. Monitor and oversee all repairs and modifications including those done by sub-contractors. This was an accident and violation free shipyard.

Oversee Safety Department to insure compliance with all regulatory agencies. During peak of season plant processed an average of 1,000,000 lbs. of product per/day. Increased plant production by 2.3% while reducing Worker Comp Claims 40%. Monitor all weekly and monthly inspections and oversee all crew safety and production training programs. Oversee all factory production operations including but not limited to fish oil and fish meal plant, IQF production, Fresh and Frozen Production as well as offload and shipping. Handle all crew issues for a crew of 230.
