Production Manager - New Model and Mass Production

Management of 3 shifts, which include approximately 28 employees. Responsible for ensuring that each shift runs based on production schedule from Materials. Ensure that all presses are running with minimal scrap rates and meets or exceeds production run times. Review each production run to ensure that cycle times are being met and to review each process or layout to improve/reduce production cycle times. Responsible for reviewing and entering production data into MRP system to ensure all production requirements are being met. Implement corrective actions and countermeasures based on quality management systems. Work directly with quality to investigate all issues that may cause molding defects.

Create Master Setup Sheets to document each process setting in order to achieve the best run it rate for each mold. Attend all trials to ensure each documented process is followed and best cycle times are valid and no molding defects occur. If defects do occur, they are documented on trial summary sheets and investigation occurs so corrective actions are implemented.

Create Master Set up Sheets, Manufacturing processes, Start up and Shut down processes, procedures, work instructions, processes and production forms.

Perform LPA audits weekly to ensure that all processes are meeting quality requirements per Mold and per Press. Provide LPA findings to quality for immediate resolution.

Assist Materials Group with end of the month inventory. Ensure that all material requirements for each part are met and used as specified in molding job books. Ensure that regrind material is used where specified by the customer. Ensure that percentage of regrind is noted on each materials sheet posted on the material hoppers, mixer and gaylords. Ensure all material is reweighed and specified per material requirements.

Responsible for working with production to investigate all issues that may cause molding defects. Implement corrective actions and countermeasures. Responsible for reporting all internal/external quality defects to executive management and/or KMA's customer. Provide PVL and Inspector support to both production and assembly. Attend all New Model and Mass Pro Meetings with the Design Team to ensure all past problem history is reviewed and all issues are resolved before launch. Create all documentation for startup and shut down of equipment. Attend all New Model Trials. Create training material for all plant employees for each New Model Launch.

Create Red Rabbit process for all parts to be used at the beginning of the manufacturing process. This is to ensure that all manufacturing equipment and/or fixtures are working properly. Establish Calibration Log electronically to ensure all equipment remains compliant. Create and maintain all internal procedures, work instructions, processes, and forms for QS9000 conformance. Assist all departments’ plant wide to ensure quality processes are implemented into every process. Schedule, monitor and maintain internal audits plant wide.

Owner - Consultant/Quality Engineer for TRW Automotive Electronics and Occupant Safety Systems

Visit customer plants in their region representing all OSS products (air bags, seat belts, steering wheels, and safety and security electronics). Responsible for all reporting and part return activities. Provides support in areas of packaging, shipping, damage and handling of TRW products at the customer locations. Assist customers and TRW assembly plants in the investigation of all issues involving product design. Provide immediate support at customer plants when quality issues arise. Assure the review, determination of responsibility and appropriate authorization for the return of rejected product. Issue notification reports immediately to the proper TRW personnel to initiate the corrective action requests needed at the customer. Act as a liaison between the customer plants and TRW OSS.

Organizes and supervises any sorting or rework operations performed by temporary personnel at the customer locations with approvals. Attend all quality meetings with the customer.

Coordinate workflow activities and define all process and procedures for engineering and 15 CMA's (6 in Poland and 9 in the USA). Perform audits on all CMA packages to ensure that quality requirements and work instructions are met. Define workloads, responsible for refining details of all elements of configuration management. Ensure global standard parts library (SPL) is notified of all electronic component design release/changes. Provide direction on pulling new part numbers to track component changes when lead to lead free processes are being imposed.

Notify End of Life Vehicle (ELV) team of all components and assembly design changes to ensure reporting process to customer is completed in a timely manner. Responsible for ensuring SAP activities are performed by all CMA's and that each bill of material entry is 100% accurate before final release to manufacturing globally. Provide performance reviews to all CMA's for Mid-Year and Year End. Responsible for conducting weekly CM Meetings and monthly brainstorming sessions to streamline CM processes.

Member of all program change control boards (CCB) globally to ensure all configuration management processes are being followed. Provide sound decision or interchangeability issues for TRW.

Create and/or modify training material for TRW globally to ensure all existing and new employees are trained on CM processes that affect the creation or modification of design documentation and MRP updates for all product lines.

Provide sound judgement in resolving technical issues for engineering change incorporation while understanding the full impact of how design releases and design changes impact manufacturing and our customers.

Responsible for understanding all areas affected by design globally, which includes, electrical and mechanical CAD files, structure and software, computer aided design process, quality, purchasing, sales, program management, supplier development and manufacturing groups.
