Fitz Aerospace/ESNA-TX – Manager of Fastener Operations

2014 – Present

Tier 1 manufacturer of bushings and self-locking fasteners used in the aerospace, defense and commercial aircraft industries. Customers include Boeing, Gulfstream, Lockheed Martin, KLX, Wesco Aircraft, Herndon Products, and Aircraft Fasteners, INC. among many others.

Selected Achievements and Responsibilities:

Responsible for all aspects of fastener production

Responsible for all aspects of fastener engineering

Provided all customer support related to fastener applications including assisting the sales team in the presentation of the product to the customer.

Made improvements to the fastener certification process and documentation

Reduced fastener past dues from $50k to $0

Represent the company on the National Aerospace Standards Committee

oResponsible for technical support for the conventional machining of fasteners

oConducted DOEs for the selection of the most efficient expendable tooling meeting departmental cost savings objectives

Product Engineer/Product Development Supervisor

oManaged all projects in relation to product design and development, including fastener and component design, and investment capital spending ($100k and up)

oLead product design and development process from conception through validation testing and presentation to the customer

oLead the development and maintenance of standards related to all products

oAssisted with all aspects of the PPAP process for new products for the automotive industry

oAssisted customer base in the design and development of new products to meet the requirements of a wide variety of fastening applications using a wide variety materials.

oProvided all customer support related to fastener applications including assisting the sales team in the presentation of the product to the customer.

oProvided interdepartmental technical support to ensure product was manufactured to meet all specifications and performance requirements.

oAssisted in the development of various software applications, saving the organization close to $1M

oFacilitated the ISO-14001 program by leading the project to implement the environmental management system, allowing the organization to maintain $7M in current business

Designed flatbed semi-trailer main beams for the manufacture of finished, generating $1M in sales

Created CAD drawings from the beam designs for use in an automatic cutting torch for the fabrication of trailer main beams

Designed main beams for various trailer lengths, deck designs, and wheel-spacing variations

Pocahontas Machine Works – Designer

1993 – 1994

Designer and manufacturer of specialized automated manufacturing equipment.

Selected Achievements:

Responsible for designing and detailing custom machinery and automation equipment based upon a general machine concept, generating $500k in sales

Designed machines and components, using AutoCAD

Designed automatic gate system in a roller conveyor line to allow forklifts to pass through the conveyor line rather than go around

Designed conveyor system to allow the automatic washing, storage, and movement of valve bodies through secondary machining processes

Assisted in the design of a fully automated 150’ assembly line for the power tool industry
