Senior Manager Systems Development II -- Xerox Corporation (Buck Consultants), Secaucus, NJ (2013 to 2016)

The migration of the Onpoint application generation environment from Windows 2003 to 2008 Server R1. This setup consisted of the ten servers that included the ORACLE & SQL Server, File Servers, Web/APP servers and Citrix server farms.

Resolved the following technical and operations challenges: o Incompatibility of current environment interfaces with Windows 2008 Sever. o Incompatibility of application report generator (Word 97 and templates) with Windows 2008 required an update to Windows 2010. The Word 2010 upgrade required modification of the automation templates and macros. o Security issues discovered during the migration of Application Websites from IIS 6.0 to IIS 7.0.

Programming and advanced troubleshooting techniques solved the security issues enabling configuration of the websites.

This effort included the migration of seven Load balanced APP servers and four batch\print servers to the Xerox Cloud environment and the migration of the UAT/PRD databases from Windows Servers to the UNIX servers.

Solved configuration problems while building the new VM servers in the cloud environment.

Collaborated with the cloud infrastructure team, determined server specifications, and built and certified Server 1 by performing user acceptance testing with the stakeholders. o Cloned Server 1, built six identical servers to pre-server referential integrity and not introduce additional issues from a manual build.

Solved configuration management issue with the new servers and the still active, legacy servers. o Worked with the configuration management team to modify the Harvest scripts and bring all servers (legacy and new configuration) to synchronize both environments until the final cutover.

Worked with the networking team to build a requirements document and process to network and reconfigure the established VPN networks between Xerox and the OnPoint clients.

Built the migration schedule with the server infrastructure team and all of the client administrators. o The schedule minimized downtime by executing the migration during the weekly maintenance window. o Coordinated the testing and signed off each client application. Administration of all Production/UAT/Development backend processes including the Oracle and SQL Server RDBMS databases. Managed the database security. Designed the Security process to meet SOX audit requirements. o Created a specialized access request form under the SMART form system. o Captured and archived all access request forms for auditing.

Developed and managed the change control process to promote application changes between DEV/UAT/PRD including both application and database modifications.

Managed the application configuration process for new client implementations in DEV, UAT and PRD and the decommissioning of the obsolete services.

Key Projects

Redesign the Onpoint Setup application's configuration and support processes. A 2-tier application installed on each Setup Administrators desktop.

Purchased and commissioned a new server with Citrix OS o Configured the application to run in the multi- user environment. Modified several of the installation steps.

This new environment centralized the new application's configuration and cut down tremendously on user configuration issues and support.

The design of the application turnover and configuration management processes.

Selected the Harvest CM tool to maintain consistency across the operation and keep licensing fees down. o Worked closely with the CM team to design a turnover process and the integration with the Harvest tool. o Wrote automation script to streamline the turnover process to different environments(UAT/PRD).
