Experience

May 2001 – October 2001, Enigma Hair Salon, Weston-super-Mare

I started at this salon as a work experience from school. They kept me on as a trainee through the summer holidays. My responsibilities were washing hair, sweeping the floor, making refreshments and also applying basic colours.

October 2001 – June 2006, Headlines 5* Hair Salon, Weston-super-Mare

I started Headlines as a NVQ level 2 apprentice. Within 3 months of being there I attended the Foundation Colour and Foiled Again Diploma’s at the Wella Academy in London. I then went on to be the colour technician within the salon. February 2004 I completed my NVQ level 2. In December 2005 I completed my NVQ level 3. I built up my own clientele and was gradually promoted from stylist to senior stylist and then on to designer in the salon. In September 2005 I qualified for the application of Racoon hair extensions. Furthermore, I also did the in-salon training of three juniors. Other responsibilities included the selling of products, reception duties, banking and being a key holder for the salon.

June 2006 – April 2009, Excellence Hair & Beauty Spa, Wick St Lawrence

I joined Excellence as a part time senior stylist. Within two weeks I was made full-time and given the responsibility of Managing the salon, including five staff, which consisted of both Hairdressers and Beauty Therapists. I ran my own busy clientele as well as running and promoting the salon. In April 2008 I qualified as an Endermologie Therapist and I’ve also had in-salon training for Loreal Colour products and Redken products. Other responsibilities included selling products, reception duties, cashing up and being the main key holder for the salon.

April 2009 – Present, Uppercut Hair & Beauty Salon, Weston-super-Mare

I joined Uppercut as a Senior Stylist and have continued to have an extensive client list. I am responsible for all aspects of hairdressing, colours, straightening, and hair and scalp health. I also assist with the training of new apprentices on a regular basis and assist the salon owner with meeting company representatives when deciding which products the salon should invest in. My clientele contains a mixture of male and female clients and my work also involves completing hair for bridal parties and proms.
